The can opener was happy with his job and content with his place in the kitchen. He was just one of many appliances. Not fancy like the automatic corkscrew or electric like the microwave. But he still served a purpose. Cans of tuna fish, beans, even olives couldn't be served without him. Until one day when his owner slipped while opening some corn and cut his hand on the lid. Then the can opener was deemed a failure, a fraud, a piece of junk. Poor can opener was sent to the back of the cupboard, never to be seen again.
