For ages humans predicted the machine revolution. They pictured AI unleashing nuclear missiles and robots decimating the Earth. They never expected the truth. That our enemy was always in plain sight, waiting for their time to strike. Nobody suspected that the parking meters would be the ones to end humanity.
Their plan was kind of genius. For decades they had been collecting our change a little at a time. A quarter here. A dime there. It wasn't long until the parking meter collective had a fortune large enough to buy civilization...and they did. Just so they could burn it down.
