Mia's POV

A week passed and I'm still overwhelmed with all the things that happened. From my promotion to meeting my ex husband after ten years to the heart-to-heart talk with Marco.

Narito ako ngayon sa office at stress na stress na ako sa dami ng gagawin. Tambak na proposals ang inaaral ko. Puro meeting, planning at kung anu-ano pa. Nakakapagod. Gusto ko na lang magturo sa university.

Kasalukuyan akong nagbabasa ng mga engagement projects nang may kumatok. Dumungaw sa pinto si Erika, ang secretary ko.

" Mam, pinapatawag po kayo sa President's office. Now na daw po. " she informed.

Tumango naman ako.

" Ah ok. I'll be there in a minute. Paki sabi na lang sa susunod na ka-meeting ko na I'll be late. " I said formally. Aba syempre naman. Kelangan ding mag seryoso kahit charot lang.

Nag ayos lang ako ng konti at nagpunta na sa top floor kung san ang President's office. Nginitian lang ako ng secretary ni Mr. Mercado. Kaya naman dire diretso lang ako sa pinto. I made a warning knock and twisted the knob. And so, pumasok na ako papunta sa loob.

" Good afternoon sir! Pinatawag nyo daw ako? " I said demurely.

" Yes. Please take a sit. " he said smiling. Nakaka good vibes talaga ang smile ng matandang 'to. Napakabait nyang boss. Lagi lang syang nakangiti.

"How's your first week, Diane? Hope you're enjoying your new challenge."

Napangiti naman ako. "I'm doing great, Sir. Naninibago lang ako."

" That's great! Just focus and everything will be fine.... Anyway, I called you to talk about our GLE deal, Diane. Nakausap ko si Mr. Almonte bago siya pumunta ng New York for business conference, he badly wants the deal. So you have to give your focus on it." he said seriously.

Shit.

" But Sir, how about those pending proposals and engagements, I can't handle them at once. Hindi ako si supergirl." bulalas ko.

And then I realized what I've just in front of my boss.

Pero tumawa siya. At umuling iling.

" Diane, you're just so amusing. You're really my favorite. " tumawa na naman siya. Ano bang nakakatawa.

" Ahehehe." pagsakay ko naman sa trip ng aking boss. Nakitawa na lang ako.

Tumikhim siya at nagseryoso na ulit.

" Anyway, back to the topic. Regarding those other deals, let your team furnish it. Just guide them. But I will be the one to handle the Blue Dragon Conglomerates. I know you can do it Diane. Afterall, may pinagsamahan naman kayo ni Mr. Elizalde being his ex-wife." he smirked at me.

Nanlaki ang mga mata.

Sheet of paper! Paano niya nalaman eh kahit hindi pa finalized ang hatol ng korte sa annulment namin ni Gabriel ay Sandoval na talaga ang gamit ko?

"A-alam nyo po? P-paano? Kelan? Bakit?!"

Ngumisi naman si Mr. Mercado sakin. "Let's just say that we need to know our NEW executives. So we had you background checked. " he said smilingly.

"Ibig sabihin ba nito, kaya lang ako naging EVP ay dahil sa relasyon ko sa target investor natin? " I concluded.

But he shook his head.

" No Diane. That's not it. The board already decided you to replace Mr. Manzano bago pa namin nalaman ni Mr. Almonte that you have an estranged husband, who is coincidentally, Mr. Elizalde, our investor. " sabi nya.
