Mia's POV

I was busy studying our deal with GLE when my phone rang. It's Mr. Almonte.

Bigla naman akong kinabahan. He's still in the US but he really bothered himself to make an overseas call. Bakit kaya?

"Hello Sir, good morning!"

"Diane, any updates with the GLE deal?" walang ligoy na tanong niya. His tone is so serious.

"I'm currently studying it at this moment, Sir."

"Studying? Diane, what I need is a progress report. What else did you do after meeting Mr. Elizalde?"

Damn, the old man is pissed. Lagot.

"Ummm. I'll set up an appointment with Ga- I mean Mr. Elizalde right away Sir. I promise we'll get this." sabi ko na lang. Sa totoo lang kasi, wala pang matinong progress ang deal na 'to. Damn, I am too complacent.

He sighed irately.

"Look...Ms. Sandoval, you have to understand assertiveness. Your complacency will not bring any success to this or whatever deals you handle. Work as the head. You are no longer confined with internal affairs only. And may I remind you that you are the Head of Finance. So act like one. In this business, there's no room for mediocrity. Do you get it?" he reprimanded.

I bit my lip in embarrassment.

"Y-Yes Sir."

"Good. So I'm expecting for a stupendous report from you Diane. I trust you."

I sighed. "Yes Sir. I'm sorry for the complacency. I'll do my best."

"I want nothing but results, Diane."

And he ended up the call.

Nailing na lang ako. My hands are shaking. This is the first time I've had an encounter with Mr. Almonte.

Masama pala talagang magalit ang matanda gaya ng paalala ni Mr. Mercado.

Anyway, I got to work on this. I picked up the phone to call Ericka.

"Yes Ma'am." as she picked my call.

"Call the CEO's office of GLE and ask for an appointment, Ericka. I need it now. Thank you."

"Noted Ma'am. Anything else po?"

"If you could ask for an immediate appointment with M-Mr. Elizalde, better. Then inform me ASAP, ok? CFA called he's kind of disappointed. "

"Oh. Ok Ma'am. Is that all po?"

"Yes. Thank you." and I ended the call.

Hay, pati ako nahawa na sa pagka seryoso ni Sir Conrad. Hindi na rin ako mapakali.

I took a deep breath and calmed myself.

"Mia, you can do this. Just focus and don't be rattled." I speak to myself.

I went back studying the deal for any possible loopholes. This should be perfect. There's no room for mistakes.

A knock from the door interrupted me. It's Ericka.

"What happened?" I asked as soon as she come in.

She smiled. "Ok na Ma'am. You have a dinner meeting with Mr. Elizalde tomorrow at 7pm in GLE."

"Great! Thanks Ericka. And by the way, paki block na lang ng calls til this afternoon except for urgent matters. Then lahat ng for approval ko, i-hold mo muna unless life and death. Ok? "
