Part 2

Was this even part of her job? She could have sworn the job notice didn't say anything about having to make sudden coffee runs for the pro-heroes she worked with. But alas, it seemed a group of them had approached her and said she needed to get them coffee. She tried to stand her ground and say she needed to run reception, but the pro-heroes all shook their heads.

"You know Jeanist approved of this." One told her. "Do you really want to bother him to confirm? That'll look pretty incapable of you."

"If you're so worried about the lobby, here-" Another spoke and snagged a piece of paper and a pen off her work area.

The pro-hero scribbled something down, grabbed a piece of tape and then stuck it to the glass that surrounded Akito's space. The pro-heroes motioned for her to look and Akito sighed as she read the sign.

"On break. Will return in twenty minutes."

"Problem solved!" Yet another pro-hero spoke up. "Nothing to worry about now! Well... other than making sure you get our orders right."

The group of them laughed and Akito internally groaned. This wasn't high school, so what was with all the petty peer pressure? Maybe the ego of being a pro-hero got to the heads of others more than she thought.

"Well, go on!" Another urged her, pointing to the door. "You've kept us waiting already and you haven't even left!"

Akito lowered her head and gave in. She hated that she was. But between not wanting to bother Best Jeanist and possibly show her incompetence and gullibility and not wanting to make enemies out of the people she would be seeing on the daily- she told herself this was the best solution.

At least... There were no guests arriving in the next two hours, so she didn't have to watch out for any special visitors she'd have to pay attention to right away. So, she stood in the coffee shop in the late morning. There was still a line and Akito lowered her head. The coffee shop was down the street, but she still felt like she was miles away.

The line moved forward as another had finished their order and went to wait for their order to be made. Akito took a step forward, but didn't notice how the person in front of her wasn't paying much attention and so hadn't moved too far yet.

Akito crashed into his back and she immediately was preparing apologies in her head. The last thing she needed was to cause a scene at the coffee shop, and yet... here she was.

The man before her reached behind him and snagged her so she didn't fall though. Akito blinked and then exhaled in relief. No eating the title flooring? Maybe her luck was improving?

"You okay?" A familiar voice that she couldn't place asked her.

"Yeah. Thanks and sorry." Akito spoke and watched as the male turned around.

She blinked, as did the male in front of her. Not in hero attire today, but rather casual clothing. Kaminari Denki looked at her and then smiled at her. He seemed unbothered by her sudden crash into him as well.

"Hey Akito!" He waved. "I didn't know you came here!"

"Ah. Not really." Akito shrugged and Kaminnari blinked.

"Huh? What do you mean?" The blonde asked her.

Akito ran a hand through her locks, fingers moving from the dark brown on top to the light brown on her ends. She slowly held up the piece of paper, scribbled with names and coffee preferences.

Kaminari blinked and then closed his eyes and shook his head. "Well, I'm not surprised, seeing how much Blasty complains about his co-workers. Sorry you have to put up with them."
