Part ⅕
The older man sighed, not quite believing that he was dealing with something like this... again. He watched as one blonde sitting across from him spoke and the other blonde replied back with a hiss. Then the first one would hiss back and the cycle would continue on and on. He didn't know what he did to deserve this, but someone up there was clearly adamant about giving Aizawa a headache.
"You can't take a fucking request that I got first!!" Bakugou yelled out, looking about ready to settle this argument with an explosive fist.
"First?!" Kosai inhaled sharply. "I grabbed the flyer first! You tore it out of my hands!"
"Cause I saw it first! And you decided to be an asshole and take it!"
"I took it because I'm going on the quest!"
Aizawa looked down at the flyer in question that was sitting on the wooden desk between him and the arguing kids. The paper that had once been pristine and without folds was now crumpled and had a few small tears on the corners from where it had been torn off the job request board in the guildhall.
The picture on the flyer showed a flock of tiny winged creatures and a large hand about to grab one. Below the image were the details of the request: Pixie Removal. A gig that didn't require a lot of skill, but rather dedication as pixies were known to be annoying little pests unlike the counterparts of fairies and the fae. But, because of how annoying they were, villages paid well for people to remove them. In this case, the village in question was offering what would no doubt be enough to cover three months' worth of necessities such as lodging, food, and more with some to spare for personal spending.
These missions were highly sought after, so it made sense for there to be a little fighting over it. But not when it came to these two. No, the pair of teens often fought over any and all missions that each wanted and the other attempted to take. This was at least the tenth time Aizawa had been called in to help break up the spat and find a solution.
But by now... he was sick of hearing the ridiculous arguments and loud voices. Both had been going on for a good fifteen minutes now, not convincing him of either of their points. What they both had succeeded in doing though? Giving the poor dark-haired man a migraine.
"Enough." Aizawa spoke, putting his foot down.
The tone of his voice was sharp and his magic looked to be ready to activate as well. Bakugou and Kosai each froze and straightened up. They didn't want one of their mentors to temporarily erase their magical abilities, so they instead were acting quiet, calm, and ready to listen.
"I'm sick of hearing you both constantly bicker over jobs." Aizawa spoke, picking up the request. "So, here is the new rule for not only the two of you... but the entire guild as well thanks to all your bickering."
Kosai gulped and hoped that whatever this new rule was wouldn't make the others in the guild angry. But then again, Bakugou was just as much to blame, maybe even a little more...
"From now on- anytime someone claims a job that another person has already before that person leaves to go on said job- it's a team-up request."
"What?!" Bakugou hollered out and his hand flew onto the table. "I'm not working with this asshole!!"
"Then you forfeit your right to the job." His eyes turned to Kosai who was chuckling lightly. "And that's for both of you. You either agree to go and work together... or the job goes to someone else who wasn't starting a fight over work."
Both grew quiet, looking to at least have this new rule settle in their heads. Aizawa sighed once more, putting the flyer back onto the table, and then stood up.
"Decide by the end of the day if you both are going to attempt to get along or if someone else in the guild will be getting the mission. I don't care what you do- but don't cause me or anyone else any more problems. This is your last warning, Kosai. Bakugou."
"Yes, sensei." Kosai breathed out and heard Bakugou grunt in agreeance from the right.
The older adventure walked away, leaving the pair to decide. Bakugou's carmine hues met Kosai's gray ones. Both stared the other down with long and frustrating expressions before Bakugou scoffed and looked away.
"I'm fucking going. So keep up." He spoke, grabbing the request flyer and heading towards the front of the guild to register that he was going off on this job.
"I'm going to be fine." Kosai smirked. "Pixie catching requires a lot of patience and silence... so I'll be fine. As for you though, Bakugou..."
His carmine eyes turned back to Kosai and he looked about ready to say something vulgar back but stopped when he sensed someone watching them. The teacher was serious and he was not losing this mission... so he'd have to at least pretend to be fine with working with this asswipe.
But... once he got to the village, Bakugou was going to ditch Kosai at the first chance he got. Aizawa just said they had to agree to go on a mission together, not that they needed to work together. So he merely clicked his tongue and approached the receptionist who would get all the paper done for him and his annoying companion to start to head out.
Kosai's eyes rolled, showing the frustration already felt from having to deal with Bakugou. But, the money was good and so when they got back, Kosai would for sure be spending some of that reward on a reward for having put up with Bakugou.
As the woman signed them both up and started to give directions to the village she didn't say anything about how the pair of teens seemed to fight one another to fill out what she asked of them to do. She only made a comment as the pair started to walk away to grab their things and head out to the cart that would take them to the outskirts of the city the guild was in and then towards the destination.
"Best of luck."
A statement that would no doubt be something both would need on this little adventure together. And maybe to also spare them from Aizawa-sensei if he heard about any kind of tom-foolery when they arrived back. An interesting mission to come and with someone they each couldn't believe they were traveling with.
