Part 1
For @Kk_frostbite
There had been a lot of chatter among the village people as of late. A rumor that seemed to have spread and captured their attention more than anything else had in the recent weeks. The stories of a figure in white who stocked the streets at night when no one was around and would engage in battle if anyone got too close. It had quickly become a warning story of a malevolent spirit who might whisk you away into the night if one was not careful enough.
But, that was the least of his kingdom's worries right about now. Some tall tale that a drunkard might have started didn't capture his attention. What did? The reports of theft had only risen in the past month. A lot of the reports came from the nobles who had awoken in the morning to find sacks of gold or other valuable missing and only a feather left in its place. It was starting to drive the higher class mad.
Hence why his mother had sent him out of the castle and into the streets to investigate himself. And for once, he didn't mind her assigning him something to do with his time. He didn't mind playing a sleuth and tracking down this criminal and giving them a taste of their own medicine. He loved to fight and prove his strength after all and this thug was soon to find out what happened when you decided to mess around with the wellbeing of his soon-to-be inherited kingdom.
Even the vulgar prince Bakugou Katsuki cared about his people and wanted to uphold the law. Especially if the law was himself.
So, he had set out onto the streets one evening and intended to stay out on the streets until he spotted this thief. Their time was now limited with him on the case. Give him a few mere days and this entire spree of thefts will be wrapped up and taken care of as it had never happened in the first place.
Bakugou had a hood covering his head, hiding away the locks of ash blonde that his family was known for. He refused to let anyone know he was among them, less the people swarm him. He needed to be stealthy for this mission and he intended to do so.
Currently, he was sitting in a dusty bar, trying to pass the time until sundown by eating a lukewarm bowl of soup and bread that clearly had not been made fresh that day. It tasted horrid, but he needed to put up with all these peasant conditions until he could solve this mystery and then could return and eat the wonderful food he was used to once more.
An hour passed and he put a gold coin down onto the table, the waitress bowed to him in thanks and he left. The night had come and the streets were dead as a result. Only the drunks and those who were best at home on the street lingered out. Everyone who feared this apparent spirit had gone home before dark and would stay there until the sun rose.
Fewer people for him to deal with, so Bakugou was fine with that. His feet kicked up dirt on the unpaved or cobbled road. Lights inside of homes were being extinguished as people retired for the night and blew out their candles.
Soon he was in complete darkness. Silence hung around him and he wondered where exactly he had wondered to now. Thoughts of confusion were stopped as he realized that something up ahead had shattered. Bakugou took off and arrived at a scene.
A figure was walking out of a shop that had its windows shattered. Glass lay on the ground and crunched under the boots the figure wore. They were tall and covered from head to tow in white. Only their eyes could be seen through the white mask they wore: deep blue.
"Stop right there, you fucker!" Bakugou yelled and the figure only continued to stare at him.
They were holding a large sack over their shoulder and adjusted it. Their other hand reached behind them and Bakugou growled. He pulled his own blade out and showed it off to the thief in a warning. The thief seemed caught off guard by the blade and must have realized that Bakugou was no ordinary peasant from its polished state.
"Drop the shit and get onto your fucking knees and maybe you'll get a light fucking punishment." Bakugou scoffed. "Not only are you the fucking thief, but also that damn spirit that all the villagers have been freaking the fuck out over! So you're really in deep trouble, asshole."
Without warning, the phantom thief flung something towards him and Bakugou swung his blade to defend himself. But whatever had been thrown wrapped around the sword and the thief pulled it out of Bakugou's hand.
The thief twirled a long and thin object behind them and Bakugou prepared himself. He might not have his blade any longer but that didn't mean he still couldn't fight with his two fists. Whatever that fucking weapon was, he was going to tear it out of that bastard's hand and use it on them himself!
Bakugou watched as the thief reached behind them and pulled something else out. Bakugou prepared for a fight but was instead greeted by the object bursting into smoke when the thief threw it between them.
Bakugou rushed forward and the smoke cleared. The street was now empty and he was looking at his blade. It had been stuck into the ground and a single white feather laid on the top of it. The window blew and the feather rolled off and into the air. Bakugou caught it and looked at the feather before he let it go.
He was about to scream out in frustration when something caught his eye. He bent down and picked it up. A smirk rose on his lips when he noticed what it was. The fool had made a grave mistake by leaving this behind.
Come the morning, this guy was going to get a visit. He better enjoy his last night of peaceful slumber, as it would all be thanks to him leaving behind the imprint in the dirt with a logo of a well-known establishment that would be what caused him to be taken in.
But for now... Bakugou would let the bastard think he won. It would be all so much better to see his face in utter shock after all, and Bakugou wanted to eat it up.
