He got out later than he expected to today. One crummy villain attacking after the other and then the paperwork he was required to do as a result? Yeah... that was one of the few downsides of his work as a hero. Ninety percent of the time, he loved the work and had no complaints. But as soon as he was handed the blank incident reports, Bakugou remembered why he always strived to not create massive damages because it meant he would have a much longer report to write.

But, he was finally out and was speed walking to where he had made a habit of going for the past month. He still wasn't sure why he felt the need to stop by that bakery on a daily, but he always felt happy after his visits.

Plus... they had good coffee. He always had his coffee black and however that baker girl did it- it tasted damn good. Not burnt like some shops, but like she had actually treated the beans with care and extracted their true tastes out herself.

But he might not be able to get his well-needed and deserved (if you asked him) coffee tonight. The bakery was closing soon and he knew he was going to be cutting it close. So he shoved past people, dashed across streets, and nearly ran his way there.

When the bakery came into view when he turned the corner, he felt his lips turn into a smirk. There were still lights on! So he made it! Time to get his reward for dealing with so many annoying villains!

He stopped before the door and breathed in and out a few times before he grabbed the handle and tried to open the door. Only for it to refuse to open and make his eyebrows twitch in irritation. He tried again, but the door would not open. He looked inside and saw that there was no one inside and the lights he had seen were coming from the actually baking section in the back.

He growled but knew he had come too late. It wouldn't be fair or kind of him to demand to be let inside of the shop when they were closed. Whatever... he would have to come back tomorrow and try to get his usual selection then.

As he started to stomp away, he didn't see the figure inside of the shop making her way towards him and perking up when she saw who it was that was visiting her shop right now. The doors tingled and Bakugou turned to look back once more. His carmine hues widened when he spotted the familiar baker and how she had opened the door.

Her light purple eyes had a gleam in them that seemed to match in emotion to the delighted smile on her face. She waved him to come in, her silver locks bouncing as she did so. Bakugou huffed but walked inside the establishment. Risa followed behind him and locked the door behind her.

"I was wondering if you were going to stop by today." Risa spoke, quickly going behind the counter and starting the espresso machine. "Same coffee as usual?"

"Yeah." Bakugou told her and then looked around the shop. "The day kept throwing bullshit at me, so I got off twenty minutes ago."

"Well, I hope you have a day off soon then." Risa shook her head. "Even you heroes need breaks and rest you know?"

"When we do its that fucking day that the world nearly ends..."

"I'm sure that's not always the case." Risa hummed and placed a cup of coffee across from him. "Hope this will help make things a little better for you."

The coffee was hot and steaming and he could the heavy flavor of it. Bakugou rose the cup to his lips and took a long sip of it. He hummed gently and put the drink down. Risa saw him give a nod and knew that meant he liked the drink.

She had found out quickly that he was more of a fan of coffee than pastries, so she had told him that she would give him a free cup of coffee instead of a free pastry. He didn't complain about it and looked rather happy to know of a place he could always get a cup he liked.

"What are you doing here this late?" Bakugou asked her and Risa chuckled lightly.

"Bakers prepare their goods in advance. I usually do all the mixing before ti leave for the night and then when I get in first thing in the morning, all I have to do is stick them into the oven and then decorate the select few." She told him. "I can't remember the last time I was in bed before midnight and slept in past five in the morning. No rest for those who work as heroes or bakers I guess, huh?"

"That what time you get up?"

"Yeah. Bakery opens at seven in the morning for that initial rush of salarymen and women in need of a caffeine or sugar hit before they go into work."

"Fucking hell..."

"Yeah. That's why I'm closed on Sundays so I can rest up for the incoming week."

"And I thought fighting idiot villains was exhausting... but I'd fucking snap if it was dealing with cooporate assholes."

"Oh you have no idea. Let me tell you a few select interactions I've had with a few."

And so the conversation continued from there. Each talking lightly about subjects that didn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, but did to them both at that moment. Neither realized how much the other's presence brought a sense of peace to them in their busy lives.

Only time would tell how their relationship developed, but for now- they were a pair of people enjoying a cup of coffee together and venting about their stressful careers, despite loving them so much.

Coffee and good company- a good end to the day and a good way to bond with someone each would soon come to care about greatly.
