Mateo
The heart wants what it wants. There's no logic to these things: you meet someone and you fall in love and that's that.
We drove through the city. The feeling of content filled me as I held her hand in mine, resting them on her thigh. I was happy that things were falling into place with her and it wasn't awkward or insane. Everything felt like it was as cliché as it sounds. I guess that's the thing about mates. It all comes together. Even your differences make the two of you stronger and better as a couple.
You still need to tell her about being a werewolf.
I know and I will, when the time's right.
Will there ever be a right time to say something like that?
How would it even go?
"Oh, by the way I'm a werewolf and you're my mate. We're supposed to mate, have sex, and babies?"
Like I said before this isn't a movie, it's my life.
"You've been awfuly quiet and in your head, Teo." Her angelic voice stopping the conversation playing in my head, snapping me back to reality as I looked at her breifely.
"Sorry, just thinking about something."
"Don't worry about it. It happens, especially with me."
"You have conversations with yourself in your head too?" She nodded.
"Yeah, especially when I need to come too a decision about something."
"That's what happens to me too. It's kind of soothing at times." She giggled.
Oh that laugh.
"It is, but if you need anyone to talk to you've got me."
"Promise?"
"Always." We smiled at one another as I continued to drive us to the restaurant.
Soon enough we were in downtown Los Angeles pulling up in front of the US Bank Tower, where the restaurant was located in. I turned off the car and stepped out rushing over to Malia's side and opening the her door for her. I stuck out my hand and she took it smiling at me.
"Such a gentleman." She teased.
"Only when I want to be." I replied which caused her to laugh. I handed the keys to the valet and led her into the bulding hand in hand. We walked over to the elevator and I pushed the button for it to come down to the lobby. Our hands still together.
"So what is the restaurant called?"
"You'll find out soon." She playfully rolled her eyes at me and all I wanted to do was kiss her. The elevator dinged indicating that it arrived. We soon stepped into it and I clicked the 71st floor, which caused the doors to slide close.
"Seventy-one floors?" She asked and I could tell that she was nervous.
"Yes, the restaurant is called 71Above." I answered and she looked at me with a bit of fear in her eyes.
