Chapter 22

Med school really knows how to fuck up the start of our year. Most exams were hard. It was not from the samplex, rarely from our transes or from the compiled long exams we had for the whole sem. It was draining. I even slept in my bathroom while showering because of lack of sleep.

"I'm so tired. Why am I punishing myself with this." I said while scrolling in my ipad. I'm tearing up while trying to memorize all the principles and clinical correlates.

"Well, getting the MD is your dream." He said softly. I just looked at him and pouted.

"Yeah. But, it's so hard. I wanna sleep. I wanna lie in bed. I wanna shower for hours." I complained.

"I know it's hard, baby. But all the informations, the modules and this fucking chapter you are reading will save someone's life in the future." He said softly. I cried more.

"One day, someone will thank you, for not giving up and for trying harder. You'll be saving lives, baby." He said smiling. He wiped my tears and pulled me for a warm hug.

"And you promise me, we'll ace the test together. I don't think I'll enjoy the top without my best girl." He added.

"Tss. Let's sleep for a week after this sem." I murmured.

"We'll sleep in Puerto, I already booked." He mumbled.

"Hindi pa ako nagpaalam." I informed him.

He laughed endearingly. "I already asked tita. Told her the girlfriend needs rest. So I'm taking her away for two weeks."

"You did not." I uttered shocked. Sobrang close na ba nila.

"I did. I called her yesterday. She said you deserve to rest. And I was told to tell you how proud they are to you. We're proud of you, baby." Gerard said with alluring eyes.

"I'm proud of you, too. Thank you for being my mainstay. I love you." I muttered. He gave me a reassuring smile.

"I got you, baby. Hustle until you get there." He mumbled. I just hugged him more.

"Lou, saan kayo sa vacay?" Chloe asked. We just finished our Med 1 finals. It went well. Gerad and I reviewed until 5 am so we can finish everything. We only had two hours of sleep.

I yawned. "Puerto."

"Sama kami." She asked.

"Magsiargao na kami, Chlo." Trixie interrupted.

"So kanino ako sasama?" She asked confused.

"Sa amin na. Sama mo si Dom. Airbnb naman yung nabooked ni Ge." I offered.

"Okay." She uttered excitedly.

On our last day of exam, it was good. Most questions were just compilations of all the long exams we had. Thank God, I read it all. I was smiling while answering. Gerard even winked at me after I submitted my papers. Hinintay lang akong matapos ni gago tapos tumayo na sya.

"Done. One sem to go. Tired year na 'to." Chloe shouted. We just sighed. Pahirap ng pahirap.

"Grab na lang tayo bukas?" Dom asked. Gerard looked at me.

"Yeah. Sabay-sabay na tayo." I answered.

"Sasama kayo?!" Gerard asked with an annoyed voice.

"Yeah. She offered kaya." Chloe replied. Napailing na lang sa akin si Gerard. I just creased my nose.

Nung nakauwi na kami ay diretso sya sa condo nya, magpa-pack pa lang kasi sya. He told me to cook rice. I did. Tapos naligo na ako. I also packed mine. I'm lying on my bed when he came back.
