GERARD'S POV

We've known each other since we were six, we're classmates ever since, but she treats me as someone against her. I never complained, annoying her is my every day's highlight.

"What time is our practice tomorrow?" I asked her. We are competing for the national quiz bee of our premed course. But, she never glance at me.

She stared at Dom who's beside her "What time?"

"Around 9 am. Just go to my place." Dom suggested. She just gave him a nod. Hirap talaga landiin ng babaeng 'to.

"Can't, I have a basketball practice at 9, let's meet at 1 instead." I argued.

"Why would we synchronize our time with you?!" She questioned me with her brow raised. I laughed inside. Titingin din pala.

"Okay, 9 it is." I said smiling. I enjoy annoying her because that's the only time she'll look at me.

"Louisse, ano na natapos mo?" Nakangiting tanong ko.

"Can you just read instead of asking me?!"

"Sungit, meron ka?" Pang-aasar ko. She rolled her eyes on me and just focused herself with review. My competitive girl.

Even during review at Dom's unit, she's minding her business. She even had an earbud on. I'm just stealing small glances every now and then. Her face can lit up a bad day, even her constant eye rolling calms my soul, every day spent with her this close is already a blessing.

"Can you stop staring at Louisse. You're creepy." Dom commented when I got myself a glass of water while he cooks Louisse's craving-- spicy noodles.

"I'll stop if you help me court her." I stated.

He shook his head instantly. "She won't like you. Trust me."

"Why not?"

"You're like her competition in all. And the fact that you play around, that's already a no to her." He said firmly.

"Stop talking as if you're not. C'mon just help me." I uttered.

"I will not. She's like a sister to me." He murmured.

"Well, she could be your cousin-in-law if you help me." I said grinning.

Pinalo nya sa akin yung sandok."Gago, hanap ka na lang ng iba. Wag si Louisse."

"Gago ka ba, sya nga gusto ko." Inis na sabi ko. Kinuha ko yung noodle bowl at inabot kay Louisse.

"Nerd, eat first." I mumbled.

"Dom, pengeng juice." Sigaw nya.

"What do you like? May apple tea sya tska pineapple." I suggested.

"Dom, pineapple." She shouted. I just stared in disbelief. Kahit ata maging rebulto ako hindi nya ako papansinin.

For a week, we reviewed together. I kept teasing and annoying her, but she chose no never mind me. Kahit inaasar ko sya ang response nya lang ay tignan ako na parang hindi sya interesado.

"Congrat, Louisse Alexandria!" I shouted after we won the competifion. Instead of greeting me, too, she hugged Dom and laughed with him. Pangisi-ngisi pa si Dom sa akin bago kami lumabas ng testing hall.

"Gago, bakit mo niyakap." Inis na sabi ko kay Dom nung nagyaya sya mag-inuman after ng competition. Diretso uwi kasi ng Alabang si Louisse.
