Chapter 32 Sirius

Y/n's pov.

Harry runs off to Hagrid's leaving me,my thoughts, and Neville.

Why did he kiss my head.

He could like you.

No I don't want to get my hopes up.

"Y/n we should get to the castle." Neville says snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Ya ok"

It's around one o'clock in the morning. I am sitting in front of the fire in the common room. I saw Sirius head stick out of the fire earlier. He disappeared right after.

The portrait opens. Harry walks in. He comes on sits on the couch.

"Why are you up still."

"Oh i-"

There was a pop and Sirius head pops I to the fire.

"Sirius - how're you doing?" Harry asks.

Sirius looked different from my memory of him. When we said good-bye, Sirius's face had been gaunt and sunken, surrounded by a quantity of long, black, matted hair - but the hair was short and clean now, Sirius's face was fuller, and he looked younger.

"Never mind me, how are you?" Asks Sirius seriously.

"I'm not even here I'm just a hallucination baby."

"Y/n hello but Harry-"Sirius starts

"Yes yes go on harry how are you? I say sarcasticaly.

"I'm -" harry says.

Then he was talking more than he'd talked in days about how no one believed he hadn't entered the tournament of his own free will except for me, how Rita Skeeter had lied about him in the Daily Prophet, how he couldn't walk down a corridor without being sneered at and about Ron, Ron not believing him, Ron's jealousy. I rubbed circles on his back as he talked.

"...and now Hagrid's just shown me what's coming in the first task, and it's dragons, Sirius, and I'm a goner," he finished desperately.

"DRA-" I start but harry put his hand on my mouth and turns to Sirius.

Sirius looked at him. He says "Dragons we can deal with, Harry, but we'll get to that in a minute - I haven't got long here...I've broken into a wizarding house to use the fire, but they could be back at any time. There are things I need to warn you about."

"What?" said Harry.Surely

"Karkaroff," says sirius. "he was a Death Eater. You know what Death Eaters are, don't you?"

"Yes - he - what?"

"That's why his school concentrates on the dark arts."

"Yes y/n that's one reason. Back to karkaroff He was caught, he was in Azkaban with me, but he got released. I'd bet everything that's why Dumbledore wanted an Auror at Hogwarts this year - to keep an eye on him. Moody caught Karkaroff. Put him into Azkaban in the first place."

"Karkaroff got released?" Harry says slowly

"Why did they release him?" I ask.

"He did a deal with the Ministry of Magic," says Sirius bitterly. "He said he'd seen the error of his ways, and then he named names...he put a load of other people into Azkaban in his place....He's not very popular in there, I can tell you. And since he got out, from what I can tell, he's been teaching the Dark Arts to every student who passes through that school of his. So watch out for the Durmstrang champion as well."
