ALARIC'S POV
It's been 3 years since the fall of the Mikaelson's and things have been blissfully peaceful which was unnerving. Nothing is ever peaceful in mystic falls there's always something happening. I mean we have the Malivore monsters still popping up around town causing havoc but we got used to that.
No one has mentioned the Mikaelson's, the Mural painted by Luna was still proudly displayed in the school hall and new students ask the story behind it but no one ever says anything about it. They just get told a student painted it after the building collapsed. It was strange that rumours didn't begin to spin out of hand flourishing around the school. The fear the Mikaelson's instilled in people was still there stopping stories from being told about them.
It was weird. Not even the Mikaelson kids would talk about their parents. It's almost like it never happened. My daughter and Hope moved out of town a year after it happened. Hope struggled with the loss of her parents massively. The girl had been through so much in her life that I think this was the thing to tip her over the edge. Her sister supported her and encouraged her to relocate, they all understood the pain they were going through so no one questioned or belittled the way each other grieved and dealt with it.
I miss having my daughter here in town but I know she is much happier with her girlfriend being happy. The other Mikealson kids have been through it at the school. Penelope had turned a year after her parent's death. it was a scary moment because we weren't sure if Penelope would actually wake up from the ordeal.
She was friends with a few witches and they were trying out a spell. Blocking someones innate supernatural powers, it's a defensive spell to help them gain an advantage in a fight or whatever. They tried it on Penelope and it worked, they tested it by cutting her hand open with a knife and waiting for it heals, though it didn't. The spell had worked, though no one had come up with a reverse of this. So she was still with her dormant supernatural abilities almost completely gone for a while.
It was no secret Penelope was going through it with the grieving process and she was hanging out at the well-known bars in town. One being "Luna's" which Damon renamed and rebranded the restaurant in honour of his girlfriend at the time. He turns it into just a bar, a very large popular bar. And Penelope was there one night. She had been drinking far too much and couldn't stand according to luna who was thankfully working that night.
When Penelope went outside she tripped and hit her head on the curb of the pavement and knocked herself out on impact though it got worse as the blood trickled down from her head. Damon said a frantic woman came running into the bar shouting about a girl in the street to which Luna and Damon both went outside to investigate.
FLASHBACK
LUNA'S POV
"Oh my gosh, it's Penelope." "Who?" Damon asked observing the body. "Penelope Sienna," I repeated kneeling down. "Penelope," I said clearly to her. "Everyone inside." Damon ushered. "Call 911." "No! She's fine." He said handling the crowd that had gathered. "She's bleeding." I ignored them and focused on Penelope, she should be healing she's a linear. I was confused as to why she hadn't yet.
I untied my apron and rolled it up to put it under her head, her hair was soaked in her own blood. "Damon, she's not healing," I say urgently, I didn't care who was around to hear mum. I looked over my shoulder at him, he looked conflicted. If she's not healing she needs a doctor. Or... I bit into my wrist and pushed it into her mouth. "Drink... Come on." I urge her when she didn't respond.
"Luna, come on." I look up and see Damon standing by his car. I frowned and he came over and picked Penelope up. I climbed in the back of the car to support her head. I check her pulse as Damon drove to the hospital. "She's getting weaker," I tell him looking up. "Damon the hospital is the other side of town where are you going?" I asked worried that we weren't going to the hospital. "The school. They'll know what to do." "We need a Doctor." He looked over his shoulder briefly. "Judging from the greying in her legs, we need the school." I looked down and noticed it. "Oh my gosh!" I say she's dying. I go into survival mode and begin trying spell after spell to help her. If she's not healing her blood is not working for whatever reason, if her blood is not working and she dies we don't know if she's going to come back.
