5: Penelope Mikaelson

Life is so much simpler when you're young. Maybe that's because parents are there all the time and they tend to your every need. You cry because you spilt your water and they come running like the building is on fire.  

Though now I know my parents were still there. I mean we went to this fancy boarding school because they weren't able to take care of me and my brother themselves. Something about dark magic. I didn't really understand and my parents didn't explain it to us either. 5ey simply said we'd understand when we were older. I couldn't really hate them for leaving us here. The Salvatore boarding school was the best school for people like me... or who I'm going to be that is. You see my father is an Original Vampire. Elijah Mikaelson. That's right I'm a Mikaelson. Though we're not allowed to admit to that out loud. I'm a Sienna. Penelope Sienna. Which just sounds like a very long first name but it's my last name. It was weird at first being called Miss Sienna by people. But I got over it eventually and adjusted. Back to my point. Because my father was an original it meant I had vampire blood running through me. So I healed myself and when I die I wake up again and then I feed and bam second life. If I don't want a second shoot I just won't feed and within 24 hours I'd be dead for real this time. But until then I don't really have a place at this school... and the students back I know it. They look at me and it's like I'm an alien.

We have enrolled in the school a long time ago. It was hard to find my place at first because people mostly split off into their 'species'. But then I discovered the party planning committee and I was all over it. At my old school, I was chair of the committee. We had lots of balls and things like that. I went to a private school similar to this one only difference was I stayed at home with my parents after school hours.

Though the spot to be head was taken by Lizzie Saltzman. She's the principal's daughter. A few years older than I was but it didn't intimidate me in the slightest. I wanted that stop and I was going to get it if it was the last thing I did.

The only problem was Lizzie was basically the queen of the school. People feared her. She has these 'episodes' people say they're Wilde's. I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing one yet but everyone would be speaking about it when it happened.

I used to it get what I wanted. "Is Lizzie sane enough to plan the dance? I heard she had her third crazy episode of the week" I peppered around the school. "What if she loses it whilst the dance is being planned and we end up wi5 nothing." "I heard Lizzie is off her meds" and then the rooms flew around the school like butterflies.

FLASHBACK

Standing with my friends who were on the committee we were talking about all the rumours that have begun to litter the halls of the school about Lizzie. "She's crazy," I exclaim after hearing a story from Sonia a witch in Lizzie's history of the magic class.

Their eyes widened looking past me. I turned around and saw a fragile-looking Lizzie stood slightly behind her best friend. She almost looked like she was hiding. I could see the pain in her eyes before she looked down at her feet. I looked to her left to see Luna Labonair. She was well known in the school. She was known as the girl who stuck by the crazy witch. But also as the strongest witch. She's apparently a tribrid. Which is a combination of witch, vampire and Wolf. She had triggered her wolf curse. Apparently, she can change at will without it even hurting her. Or seeming like it didn't hurt her. And she hadn't died and become a vampire yet but she has the blood of one.

Her face read anger and it was clearly aimed at me. Her eyes were almost burning holes in my skull as they attached to me. She didn't move her gaze. "What did you just say?" She questioned raising her eyebrow. Luna was someone I was intimidated by. According to Oliver. He's my boyfriend. He's older than me but it doesn't affect us all that much. I like to think I'm mature enough for that. But she kicked Oliver's ass once just to prove a point and Oliver isn't a little guy. So yes she scared me a little. Her essence was power. She commanded a room without trying. Sometimes I think if I looked up the word power under it would be written Luna Labonair. Everyone said she was so nice but I never saw her nice side. Maybe it was because I was gunning for Lizzie's spot and she seemingly cares for Lizzie.
