Dancing pauses time, I've never wanted to pause time more than in the moment we lost everything.

Literally everything. Except for each other. I still have my big brother, though he seems distant. He's going to we went through a traumatic ordeal. But I needed him. I needed him to help me through this because I couldn't do it alone.

So I hung up my ballet slippers and swapped them for football boots... they're less cute but it means I have trained with my brother once a week. And the game day I get to sit on the bench... I think it's because I'm not too good at the game.. also I'm the youngest so it's not fair for me to be playing the team would definitely lose... but Ric makes them lose anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Besides watching the game from the bench gives me more free time to plot my next move... I was not staying here for the rest of my life and I most certainly wasn't going to stay here without a source of entertainment.

My entertainment comes from doing my own thing... You know pranks on teachers, skipping class, annoying my brother, finding new ways to sneak out of the school. Though that's gotten harder. Dr Saltzman has urged the girls, Hope, Josie and Lizzie to up the protection of the school. Because of what happened... Apparently, the woods used to be the easiest way out but now there's a barrier spell out there so it's near enough impossible to get out and if you do manage to get past it the alarm system goes off. So you either have to run as fast as you can out of the woods or as fast as you can back to the school so you don't get caught... Detention isn't fun.

Though Raf and I have found a way out... through the tunnels under the school, they don't trigger the alarms, or they do but no one ever comes to check the tunnels. So we get to go into town and be normal... I am normal. Apart from my deadly bite that is but I don't typically go around biting people.

Right... My dad is technically an upgraded original... his bite can kill an Original and the only cure comes from using all seven of the different pack's venom which is near enough impossible to collect as one pack is almost extinct... I adopted this bite, genetics is a cool thing when you get perks like that. Aidan only got the vampire blood, he's a 'linear' as people at the school call it. Linear meaning straight... Nothing supernatural about you until you die that is. Linear's get a lot of stick at school and my brother doesn't make it any easier on himself. He makes no effort with anyone. It's not hard to make friend's here... but for him, he managed to find the one uncool person in the whole school to befriend... Landon... He's Raf's adoptive brother... Foster brother? They're brothers either way. They get on pretty well but Landon is less popular than the Linear's. Raf told me to lay off his brother... I used to call him bird boy... he said that that was mean. So I use his name now... it's called compromise it's how you make friends and keep friends.

I wanted friends... Hope Marshall said friends are what got her through this school... I looked up to her a lot. She was a Tribrid... there's only two known in the world... the facts about how she becomes was blurry and no one really talked about it but people spoke about her. She was amazing. And Luna was one of her good friends. She was dating a Salvatore Brother which gave her unlimited cool points... those boys are something else am I right? But Luna was the other known Tribrid... She was stronger than Hope but she never put her down for it. Hope was dating one of the Saltzman twins... Josie. Dr Salztman's daughter, the quieter, calmer one. She was really kind to everyone. She always smiled at me when she walked past in the halls visiting her dad or coming to help in some way. The four of them together made everyone silent... well in my head it did. They were like celebrities. I wish I attended the school when they were still here. This kid Camille always went on about how kind Luna was to her... she got her pancakes for breakfast and helped her. That was her claim to fame at the school. When it got out that she had been around Luna she got more popular apparently... I wasn't there then but she had a following. And my best friend Raf was obsessed with her. They were in the same year group... Camille and Raf not Raf and Luna. He has this huge crush on her and never does anything about it. Maybe one day? But as of now, he's as confident as the cowardly lion before they meet the wizard.
