Laying in bed with her back in my arms was the best feeling ever, it had only been a few weeks but I had missed it. I missed having her close, listening to her steady breaths as she slept soundly, I'd run my hands through her hair which she'd complain about when she wakes up as it made her slightly curly hair wild but at the moment it helped her relax.

"You're steering." She mumbled with her eyes still closed. I smiled amused we both always knew when the other was observing us, I like to think of it as admiring her beauty, she hated it. "I can't help it," I say back kissing the top of her head. "You can just close your eyes." She said back and I chuckled. She wasn't a morning person unless we had something planned that is, otherwise you don't disturb her.

"I saw your painting at the school yesterday," I inform her. She didn't reply but I knew she was still awake and listening. "It's really good Lou." She rolled over and pulled the blankets over her head. "I'm sleeping, praise me in an hour." I chuckled more before getting out of bed. I left her to sleep and descended the staircase. I go into the kitchen and make a pot of coffee and then poured myself a mug leaving a second mug beside the machine for Luna when she came down. I take my drink into the lounge but froze in the doorway with a frown.

Hope? I sighed. Luna didn't need this right now, she needed space to feel what she was feeling not push it down deep inside her so she could tend to her sister's broken heart, it wasn't fair to her. I wish her family would see that. I wish they'd understand she had feelings too and she can't always pick up everyone else's pieces. I creep around the sofa and then see Nik laying on the floor by the fireplace that had burnt out. Are they serious? I picked up the cushion that had fallen and threw it on the armchair. I see Nik open his eye. "Hey." "Hi," I say making it clear I wasn't happy they were here in my house uninvited.

"Hope said it was cool if we crashed here." "Yeah, fine. Just leave Luna she needs rest." I tell him before going back upstairs to make sure Luna stayed up here instead of feeling obligated to tend to the two trainwrecks.

"Is Nik downstairs? What did he do?" She asked when I entered. Stupid Vamp hearing. "Yeah, they crashed here." "They?" "Hope too, but she's still sleeping so shush," I say pushing her to lay back down. "They came for a reason, Damon." She said getting annoyed with me. "Coffee?" I offer her my mug. "It's half gone." She said looking into it. "I'll get you another one." "I'll get it myself." She said with a small smile standing up and going into our bathroom.

"Did they seem okay?" "Hope's asleep and Nik's alive so yeah?" She looked over her shoulder at me as she slipped her robe on. "I didn't stop for a chit chat Luna it's 9 in the morning." "9?" She questioned turning around with a less than impressed expression. "Yep. Nice and early for you. You can spend the whole day picking up your family's feelings." She shoved me as she walked past telling me to "Shut up." with slight laughter to her tone. I followed her downstairs and she went to the kitchen first to pour her coffee. "Thanks," she says pecking my lips before topping my mug up.

We stayed in the kitchen enjoying our first drink of the day. She sat on the countertop by the window and I leant against the island facing her. "Are you at the restaurant today?" She asked me. "I am where ever you are today." She nodded looking into her coffee. "I thought it was Tea leaves that tell you your future." I joked with her. "You're funny." She said flatly not amused. "What's the instant coffee telling you today?" I added. "It's telling me I made a huge mistake in my life decisions." She said looking up at me with a smirk. "And which decision was that?" "Staying with you for this long." I pretended to be offended but I knew she was joking "You'd be so bored without my handsome face in your life." I waited for a comeback but it never came instead a wave of emotion washed over her as her eyes clouded. I put my mug down and took a few paces forward to her, resting our foreheads against each other, the pads of my thumbs rubbed the sides of her face.
