temptation

Sidra's breathing hitched in her throat and in that moment, she was actually glad they were on the phone rather than her hearing him say that in person. "Abel, please..." She sighed at his more than inappropriate attempts.

"What?" Abel mumbled, almost positive that his attempts would work.

"I can't do this with you. Especially you." She sighed. She didn't need to follow protocol to know when a guy was being too persistent when she was trying to turn him down. She's had to do this multiple times before; turning down men because she either wasn't interested in them, had to focus on work, or she just wanted sexual relations, not a relationship.

"Damn, what did I do, baby girl?" He said, his confidence not faltering.

"You didn't need to do anything, Abel." She said simply, finally stripping down and turning on the shower.

"Just one night wouldn't kill you. I promise I'll keep it on the down-low. Nobody even knows who you are." He tried to persuade her even more, and she thought about it for half a second before sighing. This had bad idea written all over it.

"My agency knows me, sir. It seems like that's something you're forgetting." She said back, getting tired of the conversation.

She heard him sigh before continuing to speak. "Look, all I'm sayin' is, if you weren't interested, you would've already hung up the phone." He said lowly and her eyes narrowed.

"I'll let you sleep on it, baby girl. You got my number. Good night." He said, abruptly disconnecting the call. She scoffed, looking at the phone in her hand in disbelief.

He really did want to take her out. She licked her lips and shook her head. She couldn't do that. That was against everything she stood for. They had nothing but evidence proving that he was one of the primary suspects in the international robbery, and all the agency was waiting for was a direct leak from him to prove it. But all she's been doing is getting distracted by the handsome celebrity wanting to take her out because he can't stop thinking about her.

She rolled her eyes at the older man, getting in the shower and washing off the remnants of their unnecessary conversation. She was getting nowhere in proving that he was apart of the planning and the operation. He was being too clean, and Sidra was sure this was just a way to try and distract her. It couldn't have been a coincidence.

She knew she was beautiful, but she's been underestimated in her field before, and that was exactly what Abel was trying to do.

She wasn't going to fall prey to his distractions anymore and she had the perfect idea on how to get her case back on track so that she could maintain her streak of not losing. More importantly, she kept getting underestimated and she was sick of it.

Sidra pouted her lips as she thought up how she was going to approach this investigation, remembering that her chief said she could have fun with it. She sucked in a sharp breath at the millions of possible outcomes that could come from messing with the celebrity's head so that he could leak possible intel.

It was going to be a tricky case, but she was going to follow her chief's order and have as much "fun" as she could with it. She just had to work on keeping everything on the down-low as much as she could.

She went to bed thinking of ways she could approach the determined celebrity without seeming like she's doing so for investigative purposes.

A smile stayed on her face as she went to sleep knowing exactly how to approach her suspect, finally feeling confident in the seemingly-impossible case.

Sidra sighed intently as she got home to her quiet apartment. Today was the day she would finally call Abel back and pretend like she was interested. She was nervous seeing as this was never an angle that she's worked before in investigating a case, but with him actually trying to pursue her, she figured it would be easy to navigate.
