He stayed quiet as he led her back to the studio. She didn't even realize when he poured himself another drink. She was too busy trying to figure out what the fuck he meant by his comment.
"We're back in your studio." The nervous agent announced, taking another slow sip of her drink.
"Yeah, because you think you're too good to listen to my music." He responded and she smiled a little, not realizing how badly she must've wounded his ego for him to want to play her his music.
"You really brought me back in here to show off your music to me?" Sidra giggled and he looked up at her, actually seeing her smile completely. He was about to say a smart comeback, but forgot it instantly as he watched her laugh at him.
"Just be quiet and listen, I've heard it's good." He boasted and she rolled her eyes while smiling as he pushed buttons on the soundboard. Within seconds, the whole studio was filled with music that almost sounded hypnotic to her. He looked up at her to take in her reaction as she listened to how the track progressed.
Before she even realized, she started to bob her head to the synthesized beat before catching the celebrity's eyes. She gave him a shy smile, not knowing what to say to the older man as she took the time to actually listen to his music.
Within the first seconds of the song, it was just instrumental, then she finally heard his melodic voice surround her entirely and her smile widened. She didn't know what exactly she expected to hear, but it was the complete opposite of what she thought she would hear from a man like him.
"Damn, that's actually really good." She said genuinely, looking up at him. He gave her a proud smile at his work and nodded his head.
"Thank you. I would tell you more about how I produced it, but you don't listen to any of my music, so I doubt you would care." He teased and she shook her head, still finding herself moving to the catchy beat.
"I wasn't living under a rock completely. That one song you made that everyone overplayed was nice too . Something about being blind?" She quoted incorrectly and he laughed a little, still knowing what she was referring to.
"Yeah, couldn't get rid of that one if I tried, back then. Now I'm on some new shit. I'm glad you like it, agent Jones. You've been missing out." Abel said proudly and she nodded.
"I guess I have. You have a beautiful singing voice." She complimented and a smaller smile mixed in with a smirk covered his face.
"So I've heard." He answered, not bothering to be thankful for her compliment. She sucked her teeth as her smile dropped, rolling her eyes. And with that, she was reminded why she was really here.
"You gon run back to your agency and tell them about how beautiful my voice sounds?" He asked teasingly, but deep down, he still wanted to know which parts of their conversations she would keep private.
"Are you kidding? I'm not telling them shit. They would look at me crazy if they knew I willingly came to your house in the middle of the night for drinks and a listening party." She lied, looking around the spacious studio. He pursed his lips and nodded slowly.
"What? So you're ashamed of me being with me?"
"Not as ashamed as the whole world finding out that you're here with me, an FBI agent, of all people." She countered back and he pushed out his lips and nodded again.
"So you're worried about what people think of you?" He asked slowly, taking another sip of his drink and walking over to the young woman.
Sidra scoffed and shook her head. "No, but it is my job to know who I'm watching, as well as who's watching me." She stated, not even realizing how close he was getting to her.
