Sidra made herself presentable for her partner who was coming over later that evening.

She tried not to put too much effort into her appearance seeing as she had no intention of having him perceive her in any way other than being his investigative partner.

She also wanted to put all her focus on their suspect's close friend possibly being a liability in her findings for him.

She started to settle into her sweatpants and a fitted band T-shirt before setting up a makeshift workstation in her living room.

After putting out drinks and hors d'oeuvres for them to choose from, she began to hook up her computers to her private server when she heard a knock at her door.

She breathed in a little before walking over to open it up. Terrance stood before her with his backpack and a smile on his face as he took in his partner's more comfortable presence.

They both seemed more relaxed and appealing in their regular clothes and it caught the other off guard, but Sidra paid the thought no mind as she welcomed him into her apartment.

"You can set up right next to my stuff on the couch over there." She directed, chewing on her lip as he nodded in understanding.

She watched intently as he walked over to her couch, his lean figure looming over her low furniture. He had four sets of tattoos on his upper biceps and arms that showed evidently under his shirt and she smirked in surprise.

She recalled looking at his employee profile and remembered that he wasn't more than six years older than her, but how he wore his facial hair made him look older.

"You have a nice apartment." He complimented after a few silent moments of him setting up.

She smiled, sitting next to him and logging into her two computers. "Thank you. I had a hippie phase in my last years of grad school and I guess it kind of stuck." She divulged, smiling down at her computer as he looked over at her.

"I like it. Not what I expected." He smirked over at her and she furrowed her brows playfully, her full attention now on him.

She scoffed. "And what did you expect?" She smiled and he shrugged, a smile lighting up his face.

"I don't know. Steve Madden this, and Vera Wang that." He said and she furrowed her brows even more.

"Really? I look that basic to you?" Sidra asked, scrunching her face up at his unexpected perception of her and momentarily forgetting he was her coworker.

"Well, what do I look like to you?" He asked, arching his brow and becoming fully engaged in his partner's playful and inviting smile.

She sized him up a little before pushing out her full lips and smirking.

"I don't know. I really didn't expect the big-ass tattoos." She said, looking at the art that covered his brown skin. His face heated up again, shaking his head.

"I have an idea why, but I wanna hear your stuck-up response." He teased, finally turning his attention back to his computer to put in his credentials.

She let out a surprised gasp, a smile coming to her face at him finally being bold enough to call her names to her face. She was about to respond when her phone started to go off on her kitchen island.

"I'm gonna give you my stuck-up response after I get this call." She rolled her eyes, smiling at him as she got up.

Her smile dropped slowly as she looked down at her phone screen to see Abel's name across it. Her eyes widened before swiping up suddenly and looking at his call vibrating in the background. She rolled her eyes and sighed before taking the call.
