“How was that?” I smirked at Happy who was waiting for me as I left the stage. I had stood in there, saying a couple of crappy and not important things, but everybody loved me and cheered anyway.

Happy, of course, was ready to receive me back with a scotch, just as I preferred.

“Good boy” I mumbled, taking the scotch

“Mr. Stark! Mr. Stark!”

As usual, Happy lead the way out of the big crowd that suddenly was surrounding me.

“Mr. Stark! You’re the best!”

“Call me!”

“Let me get you a drink!”

“Can I ask you a question, Mr. Stark!”

I was surrounded by a good variety of interests, which I totally ignored, paying attention to nothing else but the great scotch in my hand and the closest bar.

“Sir, there is a casino on the other side, if you are interested…” Happy started as we got away from the crow, but was suddenly interrupted by an awkwardly familiar voice.

“Can I get an autograph, Mr. Stark?”

For a moment, I saw myself in quite a weird situation and felt quite uncomfortable.

Of course you know who that was.

Maya Hansen.

However, I quickly showed her a smirk. The time where she would do and play with whatever she wanted, concerning me, oh, it is long gone.

As is that young Tony.

“You can get whatever you want, my lady” I replied, smiling.

“Sir, I’ll get another drink for us”

“Yeah, thanks, Hap” I spoke, still staring at her, who approached me with a smile.

“I never thought a moment like this would ever come” she spoke “Wow”

I took a sip of my scotch, the alcohol was already influencing my system, but definitely not my mind.

Eh, you know when they say something is forgiven, not forgotten?

I guess I felt the exact opposite, towards that lady, at that moment. Of course, what she did to me, I will never forget. But the time I still cared about that, or about her, was gone, for a long while now.

“Thanks” she smiled at me as I offered her a drink “That was a nice speech you gave, there”

“Yeah, I know. What was it about, again?”

She giggled “How have you been, Tony?”

Oh, I really did not want those conversations.

Instead, I preferred to act as if nothing happened. And I preferred to believe I did not feel any kind of grudge against her.

I mean, she was only my first girlfriend.

She was only the one who got me infatuated to kick me in the ass when she did not want me anymore.

She was only the one who made me never trust in a woman.

She was only the one who was responsible for my behavior with women. Or maybe I was responsible for my behavior, but I liked to believe she was. After all it is so much easier to blame others, right?

That’s the kind of man I was.

And, oh, I could not wait to make her see what she lost.

Yes, after that night, she would get to know what she once had, and will never have again.
