"Mom, that's Iron Man!!!"

A kid excitedly yelled as he might have spotted me leaving the small village on the border to Canada.

I still had business everywhere.

Jarvis could still detect my weapons, sold underhand by Stane and his men.

So, I still had lots of work to do.

Fortunately, the Stark Expo opening was approaching, which was always a good thing to lighten my mood.

"Sir, I have finished one more analysis." Jarvis spoke as I flew back home

"Lemme guess, negative" I whispered

"Indeed, Sir. All attempts until now were negative. I will continue the simulations on finding a suitable replacement for Palladium." Jarvis spoke

"Thanks buddy"

I think I was not still really conscious of what that little problem really meant. I mean, I knew what it could cause, but I guess I still had high hopes.

Of course, I did not share a word about it to anyone.

I would find a solution.

"I have found a good dilution to ease the symptoms, though" Jarvis continued

"I do not have any..."

Jarvis interrupted me "Not so sharp, yet, Sir. But I can detect some change in your vitals"

Taking a deep breath, I replied "Just keep running the analysis, J"

"Sir, Miss Potts has been trying to contact you for a while, she has left several messages"

"Ooops. Is she mad?"

"I would say so, Sir"

"That's great, what color is she wearing today?"

"White, Sir" Jarvis spoke "She has been at the mansion for three hours waiting for you"

"Order us some dinner, J"

"I think she is not going to..."

"Just do it. I'll handle her"

"Roger that, Sir."

It did not take me a long time to reach my mansion, and when I did, I already had Pepper waiting for me at my workshop, ready to throw a vomit of snaps at me.

"Wait, wait, wait!" I raised my hands as I left the suit "In my own defense..."

"Where the hell were you?!" she asked "Do you know how many meetings you missed?!" snapped, interrupting me

"I was..."

"You know, I don't care!" she interrupted me again "But you were supposed to be working!"

"I was working!" I replied

"At your company! You have a company to run, remember?!"

Dude, she was really mad.

"Pep..." I approached her "I do remember, I just needed to do something important!"

"Oh, right..." she rolled her eyes

"Sir, dinner will arrive in five minutes"

"Thanks, J! U! Set a nice table, please." I pointed to my baby robots "And I don't want to hear the sound of anything breaking!" I whispered, watching Pepper leaving the workshop "Hey, Pep! I ordered dinner for two!"
