After the huge party, horrible hangovers, but enjoyable times, the break soon came to an end and, before I knew it, I was back to my room in MIT, next to Rhodes.
“We never got to go to Disneyland…” he mourned
“Are you… like… 5 years old?” I groaned, reprogramming Jarvis on my newest laptop.
“I would love to go to Disneyland! My childhood is in there!”
I raised my eyebrow at him, but showed him a smile.
I could not blame him. After all, I was probably one of the fewest kids in the world who did not associate with Disney, thinking of my childhood.
“I can get you a Daisy Duck autograph, if you want…” I mumbled, concentrated.
“Right…” he groaned “I’m gonna go, I’m late for classes. Are you not?”
“Probably” I spoke, not moving.
“Well, alright…” He left me alone.
“Jarvis, are you up?” I spoke
“Always, Sir.”
“Do I have anything on my phone?”
“Only a message from Mrs. Stark, sir”
I nodded, staring now at the dark screen in front of me.
I guess I was hoping Maya would say something. She always did.
No matter how much I would ignore her, she always tried to call or left me messages. I guess now… she was really mad at me.
And that feels quite strange to me. I do not want her to be mad at me.
Give it a shot.
Rhodes words, despite surprising, were stick to my mind. He, who once liked her and who, later, told me to be careful, was telling me that.
However, it still bothered me how could she, possibly, like someone like me. A 15 year old guy.
Maybe I should just… talk to her?
Ugh, I hate this. I hate people and all these complexities.
“What time is my class, Jarvis?”
“It was, 45 minutes ago.”
“How long till it ends?”
“1hour and 15 minutes, sir.”
“Alright, see you, buddy” I left my room and headed towards my class.
The longer I stood quiet, the longer I would think and drown in hesitations. I hate it.
So, I’ll probably just do what I do best about it: Nothing.
“Mr. Stark, you are late”
“Tell me something I don’t know” I mumbled, almost inaudibly
“What did you say?!”
“I hope you had a great Christmas, Sir” I looked back at him, sitting on an empty spot in the classroom.
People started giggling and, of course, the teacher turned to me.
“Do not dare to mess with me, schoolboy.”
I raised my eyebrow and pretended to be quite offended “I would never do such a thing, teacher”
“I am a professor, not a teacher”
“I am a student, not a…”
“SHUT UP!”
