“Whaz she’s doing here?!” I put my arms around Rhodes, who frowned at me and started walking.
I guess he carried me, bride style, to the closest sofas, as I refused to let go of his neck.
“Man, what the hell is wrong with you?!” he threw me to the couch
“Ugh” I groaned “Stop it, you’re drunk yourself.”
“Not as you are, and it’s not like you control the alcohol in your body, kid!”
I frowned at him “Keep mocking me, platypus”
“Look, you don’t have to run from her, dude”
I raised my eyebrow as he continued “She has this thing for you. You get all nervous around her…”
“I do not get…!”
“Give it a shot” he stood up.
I held my own head, everything was like a wheel around me.
“Now… don’t screw my chance with ma petite amie.”
“I’m quite surprised you joined more than a word in…”
“Well, that is not looking so good is it?”
Oh, damn.
It was her voice.
She was back.
I suddenly felt her sitting next to me, and Rhodey was no longer in there. I am actually surprised with his reaction. Normally, he would just give me a beating for even mentioning Maya’s name…
“Look at you… trying to be cool and ending up in an alcoholic coma.”
“I’m not cool.” I mumbled
Her soft hands caressed my hair “You’re not an adult either. Stop trying to act as one.”
I frowned and stood up. Obviously, as you can imagine, my balance was not the best by that time.
“God damn you, Tony.” She grabbed me and pushed me out of there “Let’s get some fresh air”
The next thing I know, we are at this balcony, alone. The view to the amazing Parisian city was mind blowing. I don’t think I noticed any of that, by then, though.
“What are you doing here?” I breathed, still avoiding her eyes.
I was leaning against the edge of the balcony for support, and Maya was right next to me, observing me closely.
“My father has gotten a few propositions to work in Europe. I’ve been spending a few holidays around”
“Oh…” I mumbled
“I really shouldn’t be surprised to see you here” she smiled “I’m glad you are”
Her soft touch moves to caress my face, with her body standing close to mine. I gulped, suddenly feeling ten times more sober-minded. Still, I avoided her eyes, I just let her be.
“Are you still going to avoid me, pretty face?” she smiled
It felt exactly as the first time. I stood there, petrified yet relaxed under her sweet touch. And before I could even have a chance to react, her lips touched mine again. Her arms went around my neck and she kissed me softly.
It felt good. Her sweet scent, together with her warm body, standing that close to mine, caressing my hair obsessively as she kissed me… I enjoyed it. A lot.
My hands slowly reached her hips, the thin fabric of her dress allowed me to feel her skin perfectly. Everything was quite new to me, yet I knew my hands would not keep quiet much longer.
