"Tony?!"
"Oh god, stall her, J!"
I begged Jarvis as I sped within my suit, wanting to get to the mansion before Pepper noticed my absence.
Otherwise she'd kill me.
And bombard me with questions!
"Sir, I cannot simply..."
"DO IT!"
I snapped, already spotting the mansion.
I guess the speed I was in ended up betraying me though, because as soon as I entered my workshop, I went against U, that I did not have the time to see, and then, I just continued hitting everything in my way, until I finally came to a stop.
"Ugh!" I groaned, annoyed.
"What are you doing, Tony?!"
"Nothing!" I quickly said, trying to get rid of the suit, but uselessly.
Pepper was already in the workshop and staring at me.
"Tony..." she spoke again, suspicious
"Pep... I was just working on some... experiments"
"You were out"
"No I wasn't!" I quickly replied
"Tony." She frowned
"Pep, it was nothing, I was just..."
She sighed, rolling her eyes "Whatever..." she turned to go upstairs
I quickly tried to get up and go after her, but I still had the damn suit on.
"Ugh, unsuit, J"
"Roger that, Sir"
I quickly ran upstairs, finding her already on the phone, walking back and forward.
She was already stressed and I knew it.
I had to stress her even more, ugh.
I'm an idiot.
"So, you want to schedule a meeting for this evening..." she sighed "But, there are no changes since we've met the last time, with you and the other creditors, Sir, we have... oh..."
I raised an eyebrow as she sighed, once again "Alright, then. We'll me this evening"
"What's wrong?" I asked, hugging her from behind as she dropped the phone
"What's wrong?!" she snapped "I have a company to run!"
My eyes widened "Pep... what's wrong?"
"Oh Tony, just go and deal with your... experiments"
"Pep, I could help with something" I insisted, knowing she was reacting like that because she was mad and did not want to admit she probably needed me with something.
But she simply got free of my touch and left the room.
"Damn... J?" I said, frustrated and making my way down to my workshop again "Get me the content of that call, now"
Everything had been perfect, these last weeks.
Yes, we would argue, every once in a while, as we always did. But it was just different.
"It appears the creditors and associates want yet another meeting to discuss innovating projects"
I immediately frowned "Since when am I not innovating?!"
I immediately moved around my workshop as Jarvis continued to speak, trying to get more ideas.
"They hold the opinion Stark Industries has not innovated much after the Stark Expo, which was a good investment, and ended up being a tragedy to the investors."
