Twisting around under the covers, Cassia groaned while tapping around the bed for Cepheus, the feeling of his body not under hers frustrating her. Though her eyes were closed, she could feel the sun beaming down on her body, but she didn't want to wake up. Her and Cepheus being alone since his birthday, and she didn't want to do anything but what they had been doing for the past days.
"Cepheus" She mumbled, tapping one more time until finally opening her eyes to stare at his empty side of the bed. Blowing a breath out, Cassia slowly raised her body to sit up, rubbing her eyes due to the beaming sun in the process. "Cepheus!" She called out again, but was met with nothing but the sound of her children downstairs and what sounded like an annoyed Cepheus.
Releasing a small sigh, she reached onto the nightstand to grab her phone, reading the time as 11:11 am. Smiling to herself, she adjusted herself in the bed to get up and get herself together for the morning, since she couldn't walk around in the state she was in now since the kids were home.
It took her no time to get herself together. Taking a quick shower, washing her face, and brushing her teeth while fixing her hair up. Choosing to go with her natural hair for the day to give the wigs a break, especially because she wasn't planning on doing anything but staying in for the day. Saturdays really being the only times she got real relaxation, since she didn't have to worry about work or the kids other activities.
Opening the room door, Cassia's eyes widened at the huge 'Happy Mother's Day!" Rose display in front of her. Surrounding it was a bunch of other flowers along with Polaroid pictures of her with the kids, water instantly beginning to fill her eyes as she walked further out of the room. For one, she had no idea it was Mother's Day because she wasn't aware of the date, and she wasn't all that used to getting a lot for Mother's Day considering her kids were young.
Turning to her right, she placed her hands to her chest seeing a trail of shopping bags with different designer labels towards the stairs. Walking past all of them since she would open those later, she smiled once getting to the stairs. Seeing rose bouquets lining either side with more bags.
"Mommy!" Zahir yelled once seeing her rounding the corner into the kitchen. Smiling down at him running over to hug her, she reached down to pick him up and place on her hip. "Happy...I forget what daddy told me to say." Zahir scratched his head, causing Cassia to laugh while eyeing Crystal and Cepheus who were bickering over by the stove.
"You tryna argue with me bout some damn food, ain't even notice your momma came down." Turning around, Crystal shrieked while rushing over to Cassia. Wrapping her arms around her, she looked up at her with a bright smile on her face.
