Making her way down the long hallway, she kept her head high to eye the occupants in the large glass building she walked through. She made sure to scope out each side of the hallway, making sure every single person was doing exactly what they should have been doing, when they should have been doing it.
She was strict about that, a laid back person most of the time, but not when it came to her business or her money. She only accepted the best of the best to work under her, each person having to go through her directly in order to achieve a position in the highest standing medical firm to exist in the world. Specializations in maternity, but nevertheless offering all services which allowed for it to prosper beautifully the way it has.
Latching her hand onto the metal doorknob, she glanced down at her naked left hand. Feeling so weird without her large rings that she was accustomed to decorating her ring finger.
Brushing off the feeling, she pushed the door open without as much as a knock on the door. It wouldn't have been necessary anyways, considering nobody could deny her access to one of the rooms in her own building. Especially not to a meeting room that she called for her head doctors to be in attendance at.
"Good morning, I'm sorry for being late." She smiled around the room, her keys and coffee gripped in one hand while she held her phone in the other. All eyes immediately fell on her, 9 am greetings being heard around the room. Nodding at the acknowledgments, Cassia made her way towards the front of the room where the projection she needed was already showing.
"Mrs. Emerson!" Turning around at the call of her last name, Cassia smiled in the direction of her assistant who was swiftly making her way towards her. "Your husband dropped these off before you got here and asked me to give them to you."
Taking the first velvet box from on top of the second one, Cassia opened it to see her large, freshly cleaned wedding ring shining back at her. Smiling, she did the same with the other box to see her engagement ring. She wasted no time in sliding her rings back on, feeling so incomplete without wearing them.
"Thank you so much." She spoke sincerely, holding her hand out a little ways away from her face to admire the diamonds a little better. Clearing her throat, she quickly reverted her attention back on the eager faces staring back at her.
"Okay, so I don't want to take too much of you all's time considering I understand you have other priorities in the hospital to get to. But I just wanted to briefly go over the plans for the next couple of months, because as you all know the university buildings are wrapping up. They should be complete within the next coming weeks, however enrollment is happening, dorm move-ins are happening, and that also includes the launch of the internship program that we've been in the works about for the last year. With that comes you all, as some of my top specialized staff, I expect them to be taken under your wing. Any questions so far?" Cassia looked around the room, about to continue until a voice began speaking.
