Omniscient"You look absolutely breathtaking this evening, wow." Eric complimented, his eyes scanning Cassia's entire body as she pulled her chair out for herself, her purse clutched in her hand tightly.
"Thank you." She smiled warmly, her hands going up to remove the piece on her face that Jamila had her wear for some reason. Straightening out her dress while running her hands through her hair, Cassia shifted in her seat to get comfortable. Since she was suffering from light cramps all day. "How are you? Feel like I haven't seen you in ages."
Chuckling, Eric sipped on his water that he ordered. Because Cassia was running late, he already got everything that they wanted. Their food and drinks on the table ready for them. "I've just been working on getting the baby's stuff situated since he seems like he's wasting no time...but I did want to talk to you about something important."
Pulling her lips into her mouth, Cassia could feel her heart rate picking up gradually in her chest. She didn't want to panic or freak out, knowing that she was probably overthinking since Eric didn't necessarily look upset with her. But whatever this talk consisted of, she had no doubt in her mind that it somehow involved Cepheus since he was back and he loved a good game.
"What's wrong?" Clearing his throat, Eric made sure his posture was fine before he began to explain himself.
"Um, so while I was trying to get things up and going with the baby room with the help from Anthony, he brought a man along. Now I don't remember the exact face of the father of your children, but he looked almost identical to him. Which is weird because I thought you told me he was In California..."
Furrowing her eyebrows, Cassia pursed her lips while crossing her legs. "I mean how identical are we talking? There's a lot of light skin men with tattoos, double nose piercings, ear piercings, freckles, and dimples...right?" Cassia acted clueless, meanwhile on the inside she was freaking out.
She didn't understand why Anthony would even think of doing something along the lines of bringing Cepheus along with him, especially while knowing the way Eric gets. She didn't want to call her boyfriend insecure, however she knew he was and it pained her to know that she was still lying to him. Especially with the baby arrival coming so quick.
"Cassia look, I love you a lot and I just ask that you be honest with me so I'm going to be honest with you. I've had some doubts for some time now, and the doubts fall in line with the paternity of this baby. I trust you a lot, and I would hope you haven't done anything behind my back because I do believe the baby is mine. But...please just let me know if you've done anything behind my back." Sighing to herself, Cassia ran her sweaty hands down her thighs.
'This is Eric, not Cepheus. He won't kill you' She spoke in her head, although it only subdued her nerves minimally. Looking deep into his eyes, she released one last breath before opening her mouth to speak again.
