(Zatanna's POV)

"Thanks, Mags." I smiled letting him pick up my mask off the floor,

"No problem." He grinned. My eyes glanced over to Robin who was watching me. Did I feel bad about slapping him? Yes, kind of, he had it coming, but I don't feel bad about everything I said. Robin was a heartless man who is incapable of trust. I said what I said,

"Come on team A, bioship leaves in two." Aqualad said gesturing to the ship hanger as team A, which consisted of Me, Mags, Megan, and Robin, all made our way over.

The flight was quiet, with Robin pinching the bridge of his nose, his eyes closed,

"Guys were almost there!" Megan exclaimed, jolting Robin awake, somehow,

"Right." He sat up in his chair looking out the windows at the warehouse we were hovering over,

"Okay team, we have reason to believe captain cold has kidnapped a famous scientist and is attempting to force him to build a high-tech gun for him." Robin addressed the team while gearing up and adjusting his gloves,

"We drop off onto the roof and sneak in through the side windows onto the catwalks then assess the room." Megan continued, raising her hands to form a circle in the floor that we could jump down to the roof from. I look down to see much of the roof is windows except the outer edges of the large warehouse, "Zara, Muzo, and I will use our magic and powers to float down, and Robin will use his hook to decend."

Robin, not sparing a moment to turn his back to the hole before back flipping out the hole,

"He seems very...not suicidal." I say with nervous sarcasm,

"We should drop now." Megan made known with a rather bland expression.

Megan was next to make a small hop out of the ship immediately levitating herself and heading towards the outer edge of the building

Muzo must have caught my deep breath as I felt his hand on my shoulder giving it a reassuring squeeze. My eyes took to his but I didn't see certainty in his face, rather a little nervousness, which I understood since it was his first mission. Together we made cautious jumps out of the ship. I was careful to speak the correct words backwards as I heard his my face contorted to one of horror.

Something was wrong, he spoke the words but he messed up. It wasn't but a second before he was free falling towards the windows. Megan was far to the side of the building as Robin was on the other side, still propelling down his grapple hook.

Hesitation ceased when I saw Robin. I knew what he would do if he were me I could see his plan in the way he looked up at me. Muzo had already fallen too far for Robin to save him and Megan was too far away. I was quick to change my words and grant the spell on Muzo. just seconds before he would've hit the windows. For the spell to work I had to lose the one on me, I wasn't strong enough to hold us both with my magic. But I was okay with that because I knew Robin would save me now that there was more time. That was his plan.

My free fall began and the intense panic of falling hit me but only for a moment. I looked to my side to see Robin swinging across the sky, all that welling up panic just evaporated. I saw the certainty in his masked eyes as his body met mine, his strong arm wrapping around my waist and his chest meeting my side.  I clung to him with everything I had.

We rounded down a couple of feet above the glass windows. Muzo and Megan had made it to the edges of the roof. Our sighs were cut short as a shot rang out, swiveling past Robin and I to hit the hidden bio-ship. Megan cried out as the ship shook shaking Robin's hook free. A sudden drop had Robin holding me tight as his back hit the glass shattering it and shielding me as we fell the thirty some feet. I was quick to conger the words to levitate Robin and safely onto the ground with me in his arms.

I lifted my head for only a second when it was quickly drawn back to Robin's chest by his hand as another sniper shot descended from the roof bouncing off the floor adjacent to where my head had been. Robin was quick to roll, putting me under his body, an arm cradled under my back. I casted a shield over his back. Sniper shots now decending from different sources all in the catwalks.

I saw Robin's masked eyes ponder the room for a moment until he saw a metal desk covered in supplies and tech, no doubt, where the scientist had been working. Robin, then, stared into my mask,

"Can you hold this?" His expression asked, I gave a single nod. Just like that Robin held his grip tight leaning into his shoulder and rolling us three times over until we were under the steel desk where we separated, I put the shield in front of the open side,

"Miss M, and Muzo, Can you handle the snipers?" Robin asked into the comms,

"We're on it."

"Who knew Captain Cold had snipers." I whisper-talked,

"Gosh, not so loud." He barked back at me in a hushed tone, pinching the bridge of his nose with crinkled brows,

"I wasn't loud?" I touched my hand to my neck for a moment, slightly offended,

"Well maybe it's not loud to your normie ears but to my highly trained vigilante ears-"

"Are you hungover?" I whispered out the side of my mouth, agressive in nature, disappointed and a little surprised,

"I'm so hungover." He said almost immediately after, finally letting it out while shaking his head,

"You got drunk right before a mission?" I shifted in my kneeling position,

"Well..." Robin turned away, mad that I'd figured him out,

"You're sixteen."

"Yeah well I was out with a friend, okay." He addmitted. Making me shoot a glare at him,

"A friend?" I hissed,

"Yes, a friend." He reiterated,

"Drinking?"

"She wanted to." He added. I don't know why but I had to turn my face so he didn't see it flush when he said 'she',

"Does Batman know?" I turned back to look directly forward as I had been,

"Why would he? It's not like hes my dad." He answered, well that ruled out that theory, "just chill out, I'm just a little hungover."

"Should I take this time to yodel?" I proposed,

"Definitely not." He shot a glance.

We sat there until a long silence fell over us, which Robin then broke,

"So, how's Muzo?" He asked,

"Well as far as first mission goes he almost got himself killed."

"That's not what I meant." He turned his head to me, a knowing look,

"Oh." I blushed, "Well nothing's really happened, yet."

"Yet."

"Yeah, I don't know." I shrugged, "I mean, he's nice."

"Robin, All snipers have been taken out." Megan interrupted,

"Okay, you and Muzo look for the scientist. Zara and I will deal with Captain Cold." He ordered,

"Will do." She answered. I let down my shield as we crawled out from the tight quarters, Why was I always getting stuck so close with him?

"Lets get this over with." He hissed, "I'm too hungover for this." He said simultaneously pulling out cheap sunglasses to slide on over his mask, like a discount James Bond,

"Where'd you get those?"

"Dollar store."
