(Zatanna's POV)

"You and Mags seem pretty cozy." Artemis couldn't help but tease me after Mags had run over to give me an iced tea and a quick hug before returning to whatever task he had,

"Well, he and I talk a lot, and we sometimes go out and do things together like get dinner or catch a movie, we went mini golfing last week." I twirled my fingers in my hair,

"You can just say you're dating." Artemis rolled her eyes at me with a grin,

"No, we're not! well, we're not calling it that. we are just friends who happen to dodge around the fact that we kind of are sort of beginning to have feelings for each other."

"That was a long way to put it."

"I just don't know." I shook my head, "Mag's is a great guy, and he's nice to me."

"Butttttttt....." Artemis probed for the rest of my sentence,

"I don't know how I feel." I look around me, Robin had just entered the building, "I just-"

"Do you still have a crush on that guy from the galas?" Artemis and I carried on our conversation not really noticing that Robin's interest had been peaked. I blush at her question,

"You mean the guy who ignores me because my dad hates him?" I reiterate,

"Yeah, him."

"I guess." I shy away,

"You definitely do." Artemis nodded her head with a laugh,

"I can't help it, he's dark and mysterious, but he also has the most breathtaking eyes and killer good looks."

"But he's also a playboy heartbreaker and good-for-nothing rich kid." She reminded me. I notice Robin walk out of the room after completing whatever he came in to do.

Mags came running up as Artemis and I hushed up our conversation,

"Hey Zatanna, I have to ask you something." He said with a big grin on his face,

"Oh, I think I just heard Robin call for me, I've got to go." Artemis made up an excuse to rush out of the room, I set my eyes back on Mags as he inhaled,

"Well, I was wondering if you'd want to go to the circus with me this weekend, Haly's circus is doing a mascarade theme performance all weekend so the performers will do their routines in masks and dressed to fit the theme." He said, "I just figure you could use a break because last weekend was very intense for you."

"Oh, well...my dad..." I began to discourage the idea because my father didn't want me near Gotham's interior but then I remembered that he does not dictate my life for me, and I'm tired of missing out because of it, "Actually, Mags, I would love to go." I state firmly,

"Great, I can pick you up Friday night at eight."

(Robin's POV)

"Hey Robin, how are you?" Artemis awkwardly tried to make small talk while I was looking over the nineteenth mission report I had to rewrite for Kalder before turning it in,

"Good? And you?" I gave her a questioning look,

"Oh, I'm great just doing...doing great." Though her tone was chipper she really didn't know what to say,

"Why are you acting like that?"

"I needed an excuse to leave the room." She sighed, her arms falling limp at her sides,

"Why is that?"

"Mag's is asking  Zatanna out right now and I would rather be awkward with you than them."
