Here we go.
Donovan
I looked at Rae as the crumbled note was in my hand. I pursed my lips as I sighed inwardly. We needed to do something about Vinci tonight. He was going to get the upper hand on us. I wasn't going to let what happened to my two men happen to my best friends.
"We move tonight." I said.
"Tonight?" She gave me a gaping look.
"We have to Rae, look what happen to them. He has my best friends and we need to act quickly. We need to get the fuck out of Italy." She looked around with her hands on her waist.
"I know, alright. We will have to makeshift a plan quickly when we get back to the house. For right now, what do you want with your house?" Something immediately popped in my mind when she said that. I don't know how I forgot about it. I guess there was a lot of shit going on.
"I need to get something from my room, come on." I motioned her to follow me. I went up the steps and made my way down the hall. I looked in my room and it also had been ransacked. Fuck, how was I going to find what I was looking for?
I started to look on my dresser and move clothes around. It seemed like I was never going to find it. Those fuckers.
A glint in the corner of my eye made me turn my gaze towards it. I went over to pick up the necklace. Relief washed over me as I found the pendant, but the chain was broken. At least they didn't take or completely destroy it. I grabbed the chain and I turned towards Rae.
"What's that?" She questioned.
"Oh...just something my dad gave me..." I trailed off. I didn't really like to talk about it. "Chain is broken, but the pendant matters the most. When this is all said and done, I'll get it fixed." She nodded slowly at me. Even though this necklace meant a lot to me, I couldn't worry about it now.
"What about the house, Donovan?" Rae asked. I shook my head as I crossed my arms.
"I don't want to leave anymore trails or traces." I started heading down the stairs with Rae following behind me.
"You sure you don't need anything else here? This would be a great opportunity."
"Like I said Rae, this is nothing but a concrete box." I headed towards a closet that contained my water heating tank. I grabbed some tools then looked towards her. "Please go wait in the car, I'll be out soon."
"Wait, what the hell are you doing?" She looked at the tools in my hand.
"I'm going to tamper with the water tank, so the house will explode. I wanna make sure you're at a good distance." I grabbed the wrench and began to unscrew some bolts.
"What about you?"
"I'm gonna make a break for it. I'll buy myself sometime. I just need you to go back to the car please. Don't worry about me." I pressed. I could see the conflict in her eyes, but I knew what I was doing. I wasn't about to blow myself up. Although, I can see why she's concerned.
"You cannot die on me right now." She pointed at me as she backed away. I put my hands up.
"Wouldn't dream of it." She went out the door, but left it open. I assume so I could hurry and get out of there. I tampered with some of the valves and it was set to blow sky high. I threw the wrench down and began to run out. I was pass the driveway and then the house erupted in an explosion.
Well, there's no going back now. I put the pendant and chain in my jacket pocket. I jogged towards the car and opened the door. Rae glared at me as I put on my seatbelt. I finally looked at her.
