Aye, we finally here.

Donovan

I looked at Rae after I had just read the letter. Stephen has never done anything like that before. I looked at her and she took the letter from me as if she had to read it herself to believe it.

"I wonder what the hell happened?" She said as she continued to read.

"Yeah, I know. He said to call Alessio, you still got his contact?" I asked. She nodded. "Yeah...another mission?" I smiled at her. She rolled her eyes. "I mean at this point, we're like Batman and Robin, Kobe and Shaq, Th-."

"I get it." She put her hand up. "I get it."

"Hey, I had to let you know." I shrugged, "Anyway...how soon should we hop on this? I mean we coming off eight months of kick ass, can't even catch my damn breath." What did they say? It was always some shit.

"I know, but damn this must be serious if Stephen is asking for help. I mean that man has it all together. Where's Giovanni, Vinny and Damien? They're not in this?" She asked, confused. I thought a moment. She did bring up a good point...unless.

"Well, they could be caught in the fire too. Who knows?" I put the letter in my black bag. "We're going to hop on this. But we can't right at this second." I went over to the bar and poured some whisky. "I feel I am parched."

"Whisky is a helluva refreshment for being parched. Ever had water?" Rae gave me a sarcastic look. I waved her off.

"Water is for the weak."

"Water is a basic element of life." She had her hands on her hips. She was so damn cute she didn't even know it.

"Sorry teacher Rae. Didn't know we were about to have an eighth grade science class right now..." I threw back the rest of the whisky and put down the cup. "Man, that was good. Want some?"

"Not really big on bourbon."

"Weird ass." I said to myself. She of course heard me and gave me a glare. "You heard that?" I chuckled a bit.

"Go to hell."

I laughed at her irritable mood and went to go put my glass in the sink. As much as I wanted to pour another, I think I had better stay sober right now. Something was telling me I would need to be.

"Umm, have you talked to Leo and Matteo? Where the hell are they at?" Rae asked. Oh yeah, my best friends. "It's like they disappeared when this was all done."

"Nah, they're just at the compounds debriefing the men. We're probably gonna talk later about what the next steps should be. Especially since shit is shaken up right now. I also have to fill them in on our new situation with Stephen." She nodded her head and picked up her bag. I raised my eyebrow, "Going somewhere?"

"Yeah, I'm going to head to my compounds actually. Touch base with a few people, see if I can help you smooth out this mafia world shake up thing we got going on." She sounded stressed all over again. "Need anything? Call me." I gave her a thumbs up. We looked at each other a moment. Until we both came in at the same time and gave each other a hug.

"Call me later." I teased.

"Yeah, yeah." That girl was totally blushing. She opened the door and to my surprise, three men were standing there. I knew exactly who they were too. Shit, I didn't expect him to pull up on me right now. "Mr. Moretti, what a pleasure." Rae was caught way off guard. He smiled at her and shook her hand with both of his.

"Ms. Lyon, always a pleasure to see you. I'm always so impressed with the work you've done. Especially, keeping this one alive." He directed his gaze towards me. "Boy, will he be forever in your debt. An intelligent woman like you stuck your neck out for a man like Donovan Russo..." He gave a hearty chuckle as he looked back her, "Something I will never understand."
