Hope you're having a good day.
Rae
I sat down at the dining room table as I recalled what happened at the grocery store the other day. This wasn't a big city, but of course I saw my dad immediately. I have the worst luck ever. That was the last person I wanted to see.
He acts just the same. He was angry when I left and then angry when he saw me again. I could just see the disappointment he had. It was the same look he gave me years back. I guess I can't expect them to get over what happened, but just accept it for what it is.
Maybe I could've chose a different option, but taking this path has put me in a better situation.
How ironic that is. Of course I'm in a shit show now, but it's not always like that. I also put myself in this. Overall, being apart of this life has done me more good than bad.
I worked my ass off and managed to get into the commission that now wants my head. A serious turn of events for me. Besides, I can only imagine at this point what the other side will look like. That is if we make it to the other side. The end to all of this just seems so far away.
It was hard leaving everything here, especially when you really don't know what you're walking into. I was lucky enough to catch break from somebody.
Besides all that, the guys had been working on the plan to get temporary operations going. I knew Leo already had it all planned out. He also created a model on how long we had until money would runout.
I never imagined I would be in a bad financial situation again, so the thought of that happening is uneasy. I never had unlimited money, but knew I wasn't going to run out anytime soon.
It was getting towards the evening and I decided to start on dinner. I was the designated chef around here, I didn't mind though. I think out of the four of us, I rather it be me. I already told them to not expect their Italian mother's cooking from me. I wanted to hear no complaints.
I've heard nothing but good things thus far. I don't know if they're complimenting me out of fear or because they genuinely like my cooking. I like to think I'm a pretty good cook.
I began to prepare some chicken alfredo. I usually fell into my own little world when I cooked. It was like I was on a one track mind. I couldn't help but notice it was a little quiet around here. I wonder what the guys are up to? I know they didn't devote this much time to the plan.
Leo maybe, but I would've heard Matteo's loud ass mouth by now. They probably dragged him along somewhere.
I continued to cook and be in my own essence. I guess I should appreciate the temporary quietness and alone time I get. I didn't imagine a few months ago three grown ass men would move in with me. Let alone me fleeing Italy and leaving damn near everything behind. Again.
My life.
I heard the front door opening. What a short lived moment that was.
"I smell dinner." I heard Matteo. I rolled my eyes. He walked in a couple seconds later and came straight over. "Hello, Rae. Hope you're having a good day." He bowed. He came and observed the pan of chicken alfredo. "Mmm, that's looks good. Rae I wish I met you a long time ago."
"Oh really?" I said sarcastically. I cannot say the same my dude.
"Hell yeah. You're an amazing cook." He said as he leaned on the counter.
"Is that all I'm good for?" I asked as I turned off the burner and looked at him.
"What are you implying?" He said flirtatiously.
