I was making my rounds to some of the clubs my businesses were operating out of. Making sure they were all good and everyone was on the same page. I've got about four clubs at the moment.
Oof, just thought of something else. I actually should start looking for a place to live. Sure, I was staying in the suite, but I no longer have a home. This was only temporary. That would have to be on the slight back burner for now, but I would look while I was still working on the situation.
Later, I'm going to meet up with Matteo and Leo. Haven't seen them since we blew up that boat. It would be nice to see them, I didn't know what they were up to. Probably just catching up on work like I was. Especially in Donovan's absence. Speaking of him.
I still haven't heard from him. Which I definitely would've heard from him by now. He has to have talked to Leo and Matteo at least. Should I raise a red flag on his lack of communication? Yeah I definitely should, but I would ask Leo and Matteo first.
I was finishing up things in my office at one of the clubs. The club wasn't open yet, so I better had do it before all the noise kicked in. I was going over some numbers with my captains. Which also made me think of some possible recruits I had. I wish I was able to have more women, like myself, in my organization but...there are really no women in the mafia pool. Mafia leadership isn't letting these women in the door either. No one vouching for them, even if I did vouch for one, they'd find a reason not to let her in. I'll change that one day.
"Also wanted you to be aware of something ma'am." My captain, Antony spoke up.
"Yeah, what's up?"
"The Gambino Family pulled out as one of our allies-."
"So they're now one of our enemies?" I asked.
"They did not indicate any sort of rivalry, their statement was..."we no longer want a direct association with the Lyon Family"." I nodded slowly. How interesting?
"Why do you think that is?" I motioned to the three of them, "Any of you." I was curious to hear their responses.
"Possibly due to our recent events." My other captain, Dane, answered.
"Be more specific Dane."
"The mission that we took on with assisting the Russo Family. To be honest, I think we may see more of our allies start to back out. Considering we aided in wiping out the whole commission. I think we should reassure our allies." He explained. He made a great point. I also was thinking of this just a couple days ago. But I be damned if I was worried about them.
"While I appreciate our allies greatly, as a leader, I make certain decisions...right?" They nodded at me, "I made the decision to help the Russo Family, clearly...Gambino didn't agree. They pulled out." I shrugged, "The way I see it, if you're not going to support my decisions...then leave. Agreed?"
"Yes, ma'am." The three of them said.
"Great." I wrote some more things down. I handed them some findings and they went on their way. I only get to speak with my captains, at least the three of them, every so often. I thought they were pretty good guys and they've been loyal.
I suppose I should call Leo to see where they are at the moment. Figured there's no better time than now, especially if they haven't heard from Donovan. Which I highly doubt is the case, he's probably just being weird. I don't know though, deep down...it feels like something is wrong.
I clicked on Leo's contact in my phone and it rang a few times.
"Rae!" He said excitedly. I smiled a bit.
