Geez, it has been too long.
Recap:
Rae
"I haven't seen him since we were 17." I gave a confused look.
"Wait, he didn't live with you and your dad?" I asked.
"He did, but he moved out. He was always jealous of the relationship Dad and I had. I can understand why, it did seem as though Dad played favorites. I did my best to include him, but he just took it as pity. One day I woke up, came down the steps, Dad tells me 'son, your brother left and he isn't coming back'." Donovan shook his head. "I know where he is, he doesn't know I know. I tracked him down a year ago."
"So he didn't come to your dad's funeral then?"
"Nope." Donovan said curtly. He shrugged, "Is what it is. I need him now though. I've never had ill will against him, he just does to me because of Dad..." Leo was taking notes down in his journal thing. Probably creating potential scenarios.
"Well, that's what we got then." Leo said. "And it will have to do." He stood up and went over to the laptop where all our intel was stored. Leo was right, it would have to do.
"It ain't going to be no quick phone call either..." Donovan sighed.
"Well of course not, you gotta talk him up. You're going to be on the phone for a good minute." I told him.
"No, Rae...we are going to have to go back to Italy."
Donovan
Going back to Italy, in this shit show we were in? We are halfway there, but not done yet. Still got a long way to go. I shook my head as I sat down on the bed. Days like this I wish things would've went differently with Clemente.
If things would've went differently, you'd probably be dead. This is true.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, anything to avoid this particular outcome. But then again, I guess the outcome of me being dead is worse. I laid back with a huff, then knock was heard on the door.
"What?" I said annoyedly.
"Never mind." It was Rae. I sat up instantly went to open the door. She was walking away, but she stopped in her tracks.
"What's up?" I asked.
"It can wait, you seem tired." She tried to usher me back to my room. I shook my head and stood firm in front of her.
"Nah, Rae. What is it?" If he had been Leo or Matteo, would've definitely went back to the room.
"Well, I need your help with something." Interesting, Rae has never asked for help. I gave her an amused look.
"Oh yeah, what is it?" I couldn't help but laugh. She rolled her eyes at me. I knew she hated asking for help. This is how I know this was extremely hard for her.
"Don't get hit." She warned. She started walking back towards her room and I followed. I wonder what the hell was going on. She lead me to the bathroom and she motioned to the sink.
"I've got a clog in the sink. You know how to fix it?" Oh, that was it? I waved her off.
"Of course, got a wrench? A pipe wrench specifically?" She pulled one from a drawer and handed it to me. I immediately went to work. "This is easy stuff."
"You sure you know what you're doing? Don't fuck up my sink now." I knew she was glaring at me.
"Rae, you gotta have a little faith. I mean, you did ask me. Clearly, you have some belief I can do this." I went to work. It took me all of 10 minutes. I cleared the blockage, then turned the sink on to make sure it was working. Working like a charm.
