Y'all know the deal.
Rae
It had been a few weeks since we went on our first mission together. Since then, we've been able to get our operations up and going. We had sold to contacts and the money was now rolling in. Leo had a wide smile on his face because we were quote, "in the black".
We all had been talking about investing into some new ventures, but didn't want to go overboard. We still have to keep our identity hidden. Leo brought up the idea of starting a smaller organization to really become "official".
Then, when this is all said and done, we'll be able to have a branch of the organization here. If it all goes well. I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that happens.
For now, we were just riding out this newfound system we had going on. We hadn't heard anything from that dumb ass trailer park gang. That was a good move on their part; still kept our eyes and ears open though.
Right now, I was sitting in the living room mindlessly scrolling on my phone. It was my second phone for business. I was looking through a database of potential connections we could create.
"Yo." I looked up to see Donovan come in the living room. He plopped down next to me with a smile. "Something interesting on that phone?"
"Just a little work, that's all." I looked up at him. He nodded as he turned away and looked around. "What's up with you?"
"Not much." He shook his head, "I was going to ask if you wanted to come to the mall with me?" I closed out the database and furrowed my eyebrows.
"Why the mall?"
"I don't have no clothes, Rae. I had been meaning to do it the longest ago, but we were just getting started. Now everything has mellowed out a little. I'm going on a shopping spree, you in?" He said, hopeful.
Hmm, I could use a couple things as well I suppose. I'll bite.
"I'll tag along." I told him. He clapped his hands two times.
"Yes! Let's go." He grabbed the keys from the table. "We'll be back!" He yelled towards the steps.
"Okay!" Matteo yelled down.
"Where's Leo?" I asked.
"Probably somewhere slumped," he replied as he opened the door for me. I walked out and got into the black truck.
"You know where to go?" I asked him as he slid into the driver's seat.
"Yup, I've been going around town a bit. I know my way." He started up the car.
"Alright, captain." He shook his head as he began to drive on to the street. It was silent as we just rode to the mall. We weren't too far from it. Donovan had the radio on playing some hip hop. It always made me laugh when I first heard the music he likes to listen to. Can't say I'm surprised.
Donovan is a little seasoned. I should've just known he listened to hip hop and rap.
"For this to be a small city, the traffic is horrendous." He sighed and honked at a car in front of us.
"Yeah, the highways are all messed up. There is a lot more people taking the streets. West Market is always a hassle. I swear the best time is to come at midnight." I commented.
"I feel like I'm in Sicily again. Merda (Shit)." He grumbled out. I chuckled at his annoyance. "I just want to get to my destination."
"We'll get there, tiger." He gave me the side eye.
