Summary:   You and Loki walk through the long corridor; it was 10 pm and you were both only just leaving Stark Towers.  You were both assigned to do paperwork. Much to Loki’s annoyance, Director Fury didn’t trust Loki enough yet to send him on missions despite Thor ensuring his “rehabilitation.”

You, on the other hand, didn’t get how being “one of the best and brightest S.H.I.E.L.D. agents” actually meant that you were stuck with babysitting duties. Sure, Fury said that you were one of a few people he trusted to keep Loki in line, which makes up for it a little bit, but that didn’t mean that you weren’t still pissed that you were stuck doing paperwork instead of fieldwork.

You both enter the empty elevator; Loki presses the ground floor button and then sighs, leaning back against the wall. You check your phone, letting out a big sigh as it loses its cellular signal and the wi – fi.

“Well, Agent, that was a busy day, wasn’t it,” Loki says. “I suppose tomorrow won’t be any different?”
You don’t answer. You stare at the elevator buttons, looking thoughtful. Loki pushes himself off of the wall and moves closer to you. He puts his hand on your shoulder, “Agent? Are you alright?”

“Sorry,” you say, shaken from your thoughts. “It’s just that the light is going much slower than it usually–”
You’re cut off when the elevator suddenly jumps to a stop and you’re thrown to the floor. Loki lands on top of you, bracing your head with his arms. The lights of the elevator were flickering and there were creaking noises coming from the outside.
You both stay completely still until it stops.
You’re both breathing heavily and you can feel his body against yours. You clear your throat and Loki removes himself from his current position and sits up. “Are you alright?” he asks.

You slowly nod and give him a nervous smile.
“You’re not hurt anywhere?” he asks. You shake your head. Loki stands up and holds out his hand to help you. Your bodies were close, just brushing as you held his hand.

You make eye contact, but look away quickly; still, you notice his beautiful emerald greens linger a little too long on yours. No, you can’t think of him that way, you think to yourself. He tried to destroy New York and take over the world.

Loki clears his throat and pulls away, looking at the buttons of the elevator. He presses the emergency button; you don’t expect anyone to answer, seeing that it was so late at night. He turns back to you.

“Looks like we’re going to be stuck here until someone notices we’re missing,” Loki smiles nervously at you. “Agent, are you sure you’re alright? You’re usually quite talkative. In fact, you never shut up about your criticisms concerning me.”

“I’m just a little claustrophobic,” you finally break your silence, feeling embarrassed.
“Oh, really? I didn’t think S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were supposed to be scared of anything,” Loki says smirking at you.

“We’re trained to get over them, or at least hide them well,” you reply.
“Well, you’re certainly not hiding it well,” he says, snickering.
“It’s just the two of us in the elevator; I didn’t think it would matter that much,” you retort.

“I’ll never make that mistake again.”
You check your phone and hope, but still no signal. You survey the area and think of a logical solution to your current situation.
