Part 2 of End Of A Good Thing
The ending of their relationship was completely one sided by all accounts, Anna had no problem in admitting that but it still had come as a surprise when she'd seen Jax with another woman so soon. It wasn't that he'd moved on within days or even weeks, it had been months since they'd finalize their divorce but it didn't make it any easier to see. Jax seemed happy and at the end of the day it was the only thing that really mattered, all Anna wanted was to see his ever present smirk on his face again.
It came as a friendly gesture when he'd reached out to check on her and see if she needed anything, he meant well by it and that she knew for a fact, regardless it still hurt to think about everything being different between them. Though she still accepted his offer to stop by the club for a party they were holding, trying her hardest to compose herself as she walked through the crowd of people. Hoping that no one thought badly of her or worse yet, hated her and still held a grudge against her.
"Hey, big guy." Anna called over to Jax resting against the railing near their bikes. "Hey, asshole." He smiled back leaning to hug her. They caught up on their separate lives, how things had been going for eachother since the last time they had spoken. Hearing a bike approaching the lot thinking nothing of it for obvious reasons, what Anna had not expected was for it to be a small woman on the bike that came near them. Though she wore a full face helmet obstructing her features it was clear it was a woman, just by her body and mannerisms.
Seeing the tattoos covering a good portion of the skin showing Anna knew it was the girl she'd seen Jax with, and the wide, almost goofy smile now plastered across his face. "Hey, baby girl." Jax smiled excusing himself to speak to her. Jax wasn't looking for a relationship so soon after the ending of his marriage but the moment he met her, he knew it was going to hard to stay away from her. The complete opposite of Anna in almost every imaginable way, not that it attracted him to her more or less, it was just a breath of fresh air when she'd came into his life.
"God, he seems so fucking happy." Anna sighed. "He is, I haven't seen him like this before." Chibs said looking between the two of them laughing. "I'm glad he's doing better, I really am." She smiled still with her eyes trained on the pair. "It's time for you to be happy now too Anna, you can't keep hating yourself for everything he's forgiven you, now it's time for you to do the same." Chibs said sympathetically. It resonated with her like it hadn't before, finally coming to the agreement with herself that it was time to find happiness again.
"I love you baby, be careful out there." Jax yelled to the woman waving at him, blowing him a kiss from her face shield. "I love you more, meyn ziskeyt. I'll be right back, promise." A thick east coast accent called back waving at Chibs too. Anna stood in silence watching the interaction with a smile, a genuine smile for the man who had been her everything for years before. "She's cute, I'm happy for you." She smiled nudging him gently with her shoulder. "Thank you, Anna." Jax replied resting his hand on her shoulder pulling her to his side in a hug.
"Tell me all about her, don't be shy now Jax. I know you're dying to gush over this new girl, so start talking." She laughed completely at ease with the newly reformed friendship. Jax seemed hesitant at first trying to avoid hurting her in any way, but eventually opened up about her and how they'd met, what she was like and how much joy she brought him. The sound of her boots on the floor brought Jax's attention for the conversation, aiming his focuse on her as she moved around the clubhouse. "You don't have to be shy baby, come here." He smiled trying to get her to come to him.
"I wasn't trying to be weird, I saw you in the middle of what looked like a deep talk and I didn't want to be rude by injecting myself into it." The girl said kissing his cheek sweetly. "This is Anna." Jax introduced them. "I know, but it's good to finally meet you." She smiled reaching out a tattooed hand to shake Anna's. "It's nice to meet you too, I'm sorry to be in the way." She replied quickly. "No, don't be sorry for anything I was the one who interrupted. You two continue your talk, I'll be over there with Opie if you need something." The green eyed woman smiled making her way to the couch where Opie sat.
"She's not cute Jax." Anna smiled. "What? Don't you start with me, Anna." Jax sighed sipping his Jameson. "I was going to say, she's not cute Jax, she absolutely beautiful." Anna laughed shoving him playfully. "Isn't she though?" Jax laughed catching on to the joking manner. After a little while of more comfortable conversation Jax insisted on the two women getting to know each other better, making their way to the group that formed around Opie and the pretty girl. The two vibed well regardless of Anna's past this new girl in Jax's life seemed willing to accept her, being friendly and respectful towards her.
"I think it's time for me to call it a night guys, thank you again for inviting me." Anna announced to the group. "I'll walk you out, leave these guys to their discussion of whatever the fuck their talking about." The green eyed girl smiled standing to walk out with Anna. "I'm glad he found someone like you, and thanks for being so sweet even when you didn't have to be." Anna said as they stood near her car. "I'm just lucky to have such an incredible man in my life, but I wasn't being kind because of him Anna. Everyone deserves a second chance, it matters very little what happened between you two it's not my place pass judgment." She smiled leaning in to hug Anna.
"Be safe, and you've got my number now if you need anything." She smiled waving as Anna backed out of the lot. "I will, thank you." She smiled back just as happy. It wasn't as bitter sweet to see Jax with someone else, it was the push Anna needed to move on with her life. What happened, happened and no one could change that but she wouldn't have changed a thing in the end. Still having Jax in her life and gaining a new friendship with his new girlfriend, that's what made it all ok in the end.
