The Dream Dance of a lifetime

Ballet Auditions

I woke up at 5:30 am and looked on my Calendar, " Oh my gosh I am going to be soooo late to Ballet Auditions and I have to get there early. When I walk downstairs I saw uncle Thor and Dad watching TV. I felt kind of scared for my audition and I couldn't believe that yesterday I messed up my school played playing the role of Hermia In A Midsummer Night's Dream last night was just uggh! it was so like embarrassing forgetting what I was doing and tripping over a golden bow. I though.." I don't think I will get the part if I mess up or forget my solo. I don't want to improv because it will make it worse and I may not be the role of Thor. I just looked at my phone at a picture of me, dancing when I was 7 years old, doing my ballet dance with the other girls. We were Sugar Plum fairies and I smiled throughout the whole day, I just wish I could be like that Sabrina again.

Now Sabrina which is me, behaves more negatively and thinks that she is going to fail her dance or part in the school play. I think I'm going to fail and make a fool out of myself again like last night. It's still dark and grey outside and it's 5:50 am. I'm packing my dance bag and looking at the picture of 7 year old Sabrina Odinson dancing as a Sugar Plum fairy next to her sister Ashley.

As I finish packing, Uncle Thor comes into my room.. " Your dance audition is today, you're going to do excellent."
He says to me.
" But.. What if I"
I blurt out
" Don't say such things Sabrina, you have been given a great opportunity as a dancer since you were 6 years old. Just be confident and hope you'll pass."
Replied Thor
" Ok Uncle Thor, I will do great."
I said.

Mum said that she'll drive me to dance class and she thinks that I am going to pass with flying colours. I think I will, I took my dance bag and rushed out the door. When I arrived at the dance studio I saw Penny and Coraline getting ready. " Hey girl, excited for the tryouts?" They ask.
" Yes, I am."
I replied

" Do you have your tights?"
Asked Penny
" Oh no! My tights, they were in the wash and now I can't dance without them!"
I panicked
" I think I see a pair of stockings right there."
Said Ainsley as she was applying lip gloss.
" Thanks, But oh no! My ballet flats! I can't warm up without them! This is going to be a disaster!!"
I panicked for the second time
Then eventually I gave up and went to go and change into stockings and then put on my pointe shoes.

" Alright girls, shall we get started with the tryout solos you've worked on?"
Said Madam Roselle

We all went to the centre of the dance studio and started with the solos. Penny volunteered to go first. Then after the other girls, it was my turn to shine!

I came to the centre of the dance studio.. The music turned my high pumping blood into rivers full of confidence and beauty. I kept dancing but then I forgot a part! " Why did I just mess up a part and forget a step?" I thought to myself. But I just kept going and added in the step I was missing.

Then after I finished, Madam Roselle said " Bravo Sabrina, that was excellent! And that's the end of the auditions, in class next week I will go through the roles and who will be Thor."
I took my dance bag and left the dance studio feeling proud. I couldn't believe it, Just amazing how I danced well. When I got in the car, mum asked me " How were the Auditions?"
" I went excellent. I had full confidence and managed to get every step right."
I replied.
" I'm so proud of you Sabrina, and when will you find out who the role of Thor will go to?"
Mum asked
" Next week on Tuesday."
I replied.

When I got home, I unpacked my dance bag and started working on an essay for English that was due on Thursday next week. I looked at the photo of Sugar Plum fairy Sabrina next to Sugar Plum fairy Ashley. We were so cute as Sugar plum fairies.
I started writing the introduction of my essay and was working through it.
