The Dream Dance of a lifetime

Rehearsal

I just keep on focusing with my xiao long baos and pippies with fried noodles. I didn't eat much tonight. Then Dad set down a plate of Crab noodles that Uncle Thor made. " When is Sabrina and Ashley's dance concert?"
Asked Captain America
" Well their dance concert is in a few weeks and Sabrina got the main role of Thor in the dance."
Explained Dad
" Wow! Sabrina's improved a lot."
Said Captain America.
" Extra dance classes paying off?"
Asked Captain Marvel
I couldn't believe that she was asking me about dance class and it gives a bad reminder! She pounded my feet so bad so so bad. It hurts so bad when I try to walk.

Then later, Uncle Thor carried me to the bathroom to brush my teeth and then to my bedroom.
" Uncle Thor, When will my feet stop hurting?"
I asked
" Only for a few days Sabrina."
He replied.

A few days later it was Tuesday. Ballet class is my favourite time of the day because we were rehearsing our concert dance. When class started I wondered where Audrey was because she was meant to be here playing the role of Loki, but today Ellery was Loki for this rehearsal. It's a great feeling to play the main role in the dance and make it look very expressive to tell a story without words.

We worked very hard in dance class because we mastered our parts very quickly. Practising the dance at home is what needed to be done as homework so we won't forget or mess up the dance. Madam Roselle sent us a video on YouTube with the dance choreography so we could practise the dance at home or with friends. I still didn't know why Audrey missed today's lesson, I was going to go home and call her to ask her why she didn't come to dance today.

When I was undoing the ribbons on my pointe shoes and putting them back into my dance bag, I heard Penny on the phone talking with Audrey.
" I didn't go to class today because I'm scared of being shamed again. You remember me and my mum being shamed at Coraline's birthday party when we stank out the whole theatre foyer."
Said Audrey over the phone.
" Well Coraline needs to know this because she was the one who shamed you and your mum."
Said Penny.
" Can I speak to her please?"
Asked Audrey.
" Yes, this us Coraline. Why weren't you at dance today?."
She asked
" I wasn't at dance today because I don't want to be shamed like I was at your birthday party on Saturday afternoon. I just wasn't feeling in the mood for dance today."
Explained Audrey.
" Oh okay."
Replied Coraline.

Poor Audrey, It makes me feel so sad to see her and Mrs Liguo being shamed in public places and rumours being spread about them acting superstitious in public. When I got home, Ashley and I were practising the choreography for the dance for the concert in three weeks.
I decided that I would practice the dance every day before and after school.

Practising a dance keeps me busy because I usually just stay at home on weekends and only some weeks we go out because Ashley and I are mostly studying on weekends and after school. We mostly go out during school holidays but we prefer to go on a family holiday together. Watching the YouTube video over and over again helps me remember the steps and choreography I need to learn for the concert.

I sent a text message to our friend group chat about all meeting up at my house to practice the dance on Sunday morning. Penny, Coraline and Ellery agreed to the invite but Audrey didn't agree. I think maybe she doesn't want to see Coraline because she shamed her and Mrs Liguo on Saturday at the birthday party. So It was just me, Penny, Coraline and Ellery who were coming over to my house this week on Sunday morning.

I guess Audrey would love an apology from Coraline before Sunday morning this week.
