Days in the hospital

Time skip... hours later. I finally finished the blood test and I finally got to eat after a long long time. I haven't eaten since last night before the dragon dance parade and the festival. What I had for dinner was wonton noodle soup with a side of a lotus paste mooncake. I couldn't believe there was a lotus paste mooncake! So after I ate dinner, I thought that lotus paste mooncake was too salty and less sweet.

I guess hospital food is meant to be disgusting and unappetizing. So I looked over at my memory box and saw the photos of me and my family, friends and pen pals. I wrote a letter to my friend Shanila who is my pen pal from Israel. Then the next day, the hospital mail full of diary entries and letters was getting sent out to other  countries for their families and friends. I asked nurse Sarah if she could add it to the mail collection.

And my letter to Shanila was in the mail bags ready to be shipped.
Time skip... The next morning, Seleena came to visit me. I was so surprised, when she gave me an artwork that she made during art in school. Then Seleena brought a big bag for artworks on canvas paper. I couldn't believe it, so I asked
" Where did you get all of those artworks from? "

" Those artworks are from our class, we heard about the MTR accident two nights ago and we wanted to make you feel happier than usual."
Explained Seleena.
" Thanks, I love them so much."
I replied.
I forgot that mum sent me a box of mooncakes. My mum told me that mooncakes are a symbol of admiration and unity. The salted egg yolk in the middle of the lotus seed paste represents a full glowing moon.

I knew that since I was little and I'll tell my friends Coraline and Penny about what they represent and how they're special to me. Mooncakes are the best Chinese desserts ever. Mooncakes are like edible works of art that mean unity and admiration of the full moon.

When I looked at the artworks, I put them in my scrapbook as a hospital memory and wrote the date when I received it. I felt so great about receiving gifts as an act of kindness. I just missed my family and being in the hospital for four weeks and not being able to walk for five days sounded bad. I guess I'd had to learn to walk again after five days because the train door accident last night the injury was just too severe and required a very very high chance of having another surgery.

But I just decided to go to sleep and forget about those thoughts they I was thinking of.
The next morning, Captain Marvel came to visit me.
" Hello Sabrina, I heard that you got into an accident with the train doors."
She said.
" Hi, and how did you get here? "
I asked
" I'm here on a business trip and when your mum called me to let me know about the accident and you're in hospital. "
Explained Captain Marvel

" um thanks and would you mind, I have a blood test to do."
I said. Then, nurse Sarah came in to take my blood test again. I don't know why I take so many, she may as well just take all my blood out and let her sip it like a cocktail.
Then hours after, I finally got to eat again. I have fasted for such a long time and I hope the results come out good when nurse Sarah gives them back to me.

" Sabrina, here are your blood test results, we will need to do another surgery on you tomorrow morning. Your ankle is very weak and has exploded."
Said nurse Sarah.
" Exploded!"
I panicked
" Yes exploded, the injury was too severe and requires a second surgery. But don't panic, it'll be okay."
Replied nurse Sarah.

A second surgery is going to be scary. I just hope that after this surgery, I will be able to go home after four weeks. Four weeks sounded like forever. So I went to sleep so I could get through this day. The surgery was tomorrow and I couldn't be eating anything before surgery or two hours after the surgery, if another blood test needed tomorrow then maybe another four hours.

I highly doubt that there's another blood test needed, when I was dozing off to sleep, I hear sounds of nurse Sarah phone calling my parents about my second surgery that was happening tomorrow. After going to sleep, I heard a soft and plushy feeling in between my arms, I felt it, It must be a plush toy. Surgery tomorrow morning will be okay, it won't cause any harm unless something bad happens, but I know it's going to be okay because I have the doctors, surgeons and others to help me with my health.

I have dreams to get into Harvard after I graduate school. Ever since I was little, when I was sleeping, I'd dream of being a doctor and studying at Harvard to become one of the best doctors who work in the top hospitals in the world.
The reason why I would love to become a doctor is because I'm there for people when they need it and it's just a fascinating job that I would love to do when I'm older.

Time skip... The next morning at 5:30 am. I'm awake, so I might just write in my notebook or send text messages to my friends. I decided to write a short poem before my surgery.

Surgery
A treatment that is done to heal my health
Having to be brave for a treatment like this
Daunting, Operating, Recovering
Complete.
By Sabrina Odinson.

Then I realised where the plushy feeling came from, It was a stuffed animal white duck with a little gift tag on it's right foot. I read it...

" Sabrina, this plush toy will help you get through your second surgery. Don't worry I'm always here for you.
Xoxo Carol Denvers ( Captain Marvel) aka Aunty. "
I would definitely thank Aunty for this gift and the duck was a nice thought before I went into surgery. " I shall name you Lucky the duck. You are my best friend and I will never leave your side."
I said to the stuffed Duck. Then when it was time for the surgery, nurse Sarah was with another lady who was wearing a black headdress that covered some of her hair and a white dress.

" This is Sister Janette, she'll be taking you in for surgery and she will be looking after you while I'm taking care of another patient."
Introduced nurse Sarah.
" Hello Sabrina, I'm here to take you in for surgery."
Said Sister Janette
" Um Hi Sister, this is my plush toy Lucky the Duck. He's going with me when I have surgery today. "
I said
" Well, he looks like he's ready to go into surgery with you this morning.".
Replied Sister Janette.
