The Dream Dance of a lifetime

The dance of Thor and Loki

I woke up the next day with a happy and bubbly feeling in my stomach, I peeped at my calendar and it was the night of the dance concert!
My costume was ready, the props were with Madam Roselle, My makeup was set up, my pointe shoes were prepared. Uh! It's just amazing to see how everything is prepared for the dance concert.

Ashley was already up since 5:30 this morning because she was excited about performing in the concert. I'm going over to Coraline's house for a sleepover tonight, so I packed all of my stuff. Coraline rang me this morning and asked if I would like to go to the theatre with her and Penny.
I said I'll be there for the sleepover, but mum is taking me and Ashley to the Theatre. I couldn't wait until this afternoon.

Our dance school concerts previously were at the dance studio stage area. But today, we get a full theatre experience for our dance concert instead of the same concert hall as always every year. I got all of my stuff ready and I went downstairs for breakfast. Then the doorbell rang and I opened the door. It was Captain Marvel. She was here to go through another practice of the dance.

After the extra rehearsal, I got my hair and makeup done. I had to spray my hair blonde. Which was crazy but it turned out pretty great for first time dyeing my hair by myself.
Then Ashley and I put on our costumes. Then after we got ready, mum drove us to the theatre.
When we arrived, mum said
" Good luck girls, can't wait to see you on stage tonight. And don't forget your overnight bag Sabrina."

Me and Ashley smiled and made our way to the stage door. We put our bags in the lockers of the rehearsal studio. Then we all met each other at the rehearsal studio. Madam Roselle came in and said
" Hello girls, so tonight's the night. So let's do our warm up and then go through the dance before going on stage."
We did our warm up and then we did a run through of the dance before we went onstage.

" Hey girls."
Said Coraline.
" Hi,"
I said
" Love your costumes, why don't we take a selfie."
Said Penny.
" Yes! "
We said together.

I posted the picture of instagram. Then after our break, we had five minutes before we went onstage for the dance.
We spent that five minutes tying ribbons on pointe shoes, warming up in them and applying last minute makeup touches.

When Madam Roselle came back from the costume room, she handed the props to us as we made our way to the backstage area that was close to the stage. We were all excited to be performing tonight at Kirrawee theatre. Then after the previous dance  group walked offstage, It was time for us to go on. We walked to the stage and got into positions.

Then the strobe light shone and the music filled the stage full of emotion and beauty. I held Thor's hammer on pointe, It was a great feeling to feel the music running through my veins and blood like rivers and lakes of character and emotion. I went through the steps,
Pointe, Pas de chat, Grand Allegro, Little jumps, Leg extension, pirouette. Pas de deux.
I felt like I was brave and courageous just like my Uncle Thor.

When it was time for the pas de deux, Penny did little jumps and an arabesque to show that she was Loki. Then Penny and I did our pas de deux together. After our Pas de deux, Coraline and Esther came to the front of the stage and performed their duet dance to show the scene of the blessing of Thor in the story. After the blessing, everyone danced together to end the dance of Thor.

Then after we finished, the crowd went absolutely wild, we took our bows before we went offstage. I saw Mum, Dad, Uncle Thor and Captain Marvel all cheering for me. I just couldn't believe it, I aced the dance! After we went offstage, the dance of Black Widow begun. When we were in our rehearsal room, we were all talking about our dances and how awesome we were onstage.

" We did absolutely awesome!!"
Penny, Coraline and I said together.
" You did awesome Sabrina, you aced the role of Thor."
Praised Ainsley and Frida.
" Thanks"
I replied.
Penny, Coraline and I were posting selfies on instagram and just having fun until curtain call.
" Did you bring your nail polish?"
Asked Penny
" Yes I did, and we are going to have so much fun tonight after the concert."
I replied.
Then Penny went to the bathroom with her costume bag to change into her next costume for her Jazz dance. She came back wearing a shimmering skirt and a red coat like the other girls in the jazz dance she was in.
" You look awesome Penny."
Coraline and I said together.
" Thanks, this is the Iron Man dance costume for jazz."
Replied Penny and she slipped on her jazz shoes.

Then after the Black Widow, Captain America dance, The Iron Man dance girls were getting ready to go on stage.
" Good luck Penny."
Coraline and I said together.
Coraline and I were talking about our photos on instagram and what we should post. Coraline showed the girls the pictures of her birthday party and she still had the picture of Audrey and her mum praying before Act 2.

I decided that I wanted to post my funny selfies with my friends backstage on instagram. After all of the dances, it was time for Curtain call. We were the fourth last group to take our bows. It was a great moment of fun when curtain call commenced with the Spiderman dance. Then after the other dances, it was the our turn to take our bows. Penny was with the Iron Man dance so she didn't get to take her bows with the Thor dance.

After all of the groups came and took their bows together, The whole dance concert all took one final bow before the end of the show. Everyone in the audience was going wild when everyone took their final bows.
After the final bows we went offstage and packed all of our stuff before going home.
" All of you girls did awesome and Thanks so much for making this year special."
Said Madam Roselle.
" Thank you Madam Roselle. Wooo hoooo! We finished our dance concert."
We all cheered together.
We all walked out from the stage door and met our parents there waiting to take the dancers home.

" Sabrina, Ashley you did awesome."
Praised Mum and dad.
" Sabrina, you pulled it off so well and you danced with so much passion."
Said Uncle Thor proudly.
" I can't believe how awesome you've danced and the extra hard work is paying off. "
Praised Captain Marvel.
" Thanks everyone for supporting me"
I replied proudly.

Then, I said bye to mum, dad, Ashley and my family because I was going with Penny and Coraline for the sleepover. I told mum to pick me up at 10:30 tomorrow morning.
Then Penny, Coraline and I piled into Mrs Anderson's car.

We were on our way to Coraline's house for our amazing sleepover for the night.
