Chapter 10

C O L L I N S

The first thing I thought of when I got home was Edward. What have I done? How do I tell him? What do I do?

I started panicking so I decided to call Ashton.

"Hello?" She answered.

"ASHTON I DID SOMETHING HORRIBLE!" I yelled.

"Oh my gosh. Don't yell again. That totally just killed my eardrum!" She shouted back, only not as loud as I did.

"Sorry." I apologized.

"Yeah. Just don't do it again," She answered, ticked off. "Okay, what did you do so horribly?" She asked.

"I'm dating Luke." I mumbled so she couldn't hear.

"What? Collins don't play games with me. I didn't hear you, what did you say."

"I'm dating Luke. There I said it." I answered, frustrated.

There was a long moment of silence. And I mean a really long moment of silence.

"Really? How did it happen?" She finally asked.

"Well I went to his house to go work on the science project and then I was going to leave but then my car's hood was off and it was pouring outside, so we got stuck outside and then Luke and I kinda kissed and I then we watched a movie, I accidentally fell asleep with him on the couch and then we ditched school." I quickly explained to her, rambling my head off.

"See. I told you." She answered. Not the response I expected.

What? What does she mean she told me?

"Huh?" I asked, really confused.

"Remember what I said when you two got in trouble with Mr. Adams? How maybe you two troublemakers can't help but fall in love? I mean you did skip school." She pointed out.

Ohhhh. That's what she was talking about.

"Oh." Was all I said.

"I'm actually so proud of you too! You finally did something bad, for once!" She laughed.

"Yeah..." I pretended to laugh with her, but now all I could think about was how bad that really was. I never do anything bad.

"Wait. What are you going to do about Edward?" She asked.

Ugh, right. Let's add that to the list.

"That's why I called you in the first place. I don't know what to do. I need some ideas."

"Girl, you realize you're asking me?"
She teased.

"Yeah, because you're...sneaky and mischievous." I decided.

She laughed at that. "Okay I am, but not in that way. That's not where my expertise lays. I'm sneaky when it comes to skipping school and doing pranks at school," she was right. That's what she does. To this day I don't know how we're friends.

"Wait, does Luke know? Like, does he think you and Edward are still dating? Or what?"

I thought about it he must've thought that. I don't know why he wouldn't.

"I'll find out. I'll tell you at school tomorrow."

"Okay. See you then!"

"Bye!" I was about to hang up but she said something first.

"Collins?"

"Yea?"

"Make sure you find out. And know what you're doing, m'kay?"
