Our Little Secret (Noah Beck × Lil Huddy)

Unavoidable

(3rd person perspective)
*I am mostly going to do 3rd person perspectives from now on, so it's easier to tell both sides of the story*

After waking up from his deep sleep, Noah gets ready for another day at sway. He feels guilt from what he did the day before. Nonetheless, he tried his best to ignore it, and go on with his morning. He went downstairs to get a glass of water, and unexpectedly saw Josh Richards and Jaden in the kitchen already having breakfast. He wasn't really that close to either of them, so he took the opportunity to try and talk to them. While he got his drink, he greeted them with a simple hello.  They said hi back and asked him if he wanted to sit with them. And, of course, he agreed.

        Josh and Jaden started to talk about a basketball game they went to the other day. Noah could tell that Josh and Jaden were very close, and felt like he was the odd one out. To avoid such feelings, he decided to add himself to the conversation. He asked them "So, what team did you guys root for?" They replied "the bulls" and the rest of conversation went smoothly.

        Then, after breakfast, Josh and Jaden proceeded to invite Noah to hang out with them and another friend to the arcade. Noah happily agreed, and asked who the other friend was out of curiosity. Then Josh replied "Chase." Noah didn't know anyone named Chase in L.A, or so he thought.

   The time came, and they all headed out to the arcade. It was a pretty big arcade, Noah had never seen anything like it. Once he entered building, he saw that it was filled with games and sports, as far as the eyes could see. You could practically spend the entire day there. 

      Chase had not arrived yet, but he was on his way. He was too busy daydreaming about his kiss with Noah that he lost track of time. He quickly got ready and headed on out. While he was driving, he thought about how different his kiss with Noah felt, compared to all his kisses with Charli. He had nothing against Charli, she was always very loving to him, but sparks did not fly for him when they would kiss. Chase knew that, but he chose to suppress his awareness.

       Chase finally arrived, and made his way into the building. Noah and the others were getting drinks in the restaurant inside the arcade. Neither of them knew the other was coming.

     Josh received a text from Chase that he'd arrived, and went to go get him. Jaden and Noah stayed at the restaurant to wait for them. Jaden then proceeded to ask "So, have you met Chase yet?" Noah answered that he didn't, not knowing that Chase was the real name of the boy he kissed the day before.

        Josh and Chase were walking to them, and Noah finally connected the dots. He couldn't hide the shock from his face when he saw him. He thought to himself "how could this possibly happen again?!"

      When Chase realized Noah was there, his eyes opened wide out of surprise. But, he couldn't help but to smirk, because he wanted to see him again. When Josh and Chase caught up to where Noah and Jaden were, Jaden said "Noah, this is Chase. Chase, this is Noah." Noah pretended as if this as the first time they met. He said "Nice to meet you, chase." Chase was confused but went along with it.

    Noah was panicking on the inside, because he painfully realized that there was no possible way to avoid chase. All his friends were also Chase's friends. Inner circles are hard to break. Chase was unavoidable.

Now it's time to play games, and not just the ones in the arcade. He's got to play a game of lies, secrecy, and pretend. And, there's no way out.
