Truth or Dare

Truth or Dare. Most people play it lightly and innocently. But at Sway, it is a chaotic game of mischief and drama. Especially when Bryce is playing. And all of the sway boys knew this, except Noah because he was new to the group.

        Half of the sway boys were down for some 'truth or dare' fun. But the other half were hesitant, knowing what could happen. Jaden asked Bryce "Truth or dare? Are you sure you wanna play THAT game? Can't we play something else?" Bryce gave Jaden a disapproving look, and replied, "Come on Jaden, it will be fun. Don't be a wuss." Noah noticed that some of the sway boys were not excited, and asked Josh, "why doesn't anyone wanna play that game?" Josh replied "Truth or Dare can get pretty crazy here, especially when Bryce suggests it. He goes all out."

       Noah was a bit scared when he heard that, he was hoping that Josh was just exaggerating. The half who wanted to play: Bryce, Blake, and Griffin kept peer pressuring the others to play. Eventually, the hesitant half agreed due to the pressure. The guests, not knowing what they were getting themselves into, also agreed to play.

    They all sat in the living room floor in a circle. Dixie sarcastically asked, "why are we sitting in a circle? We're playing truth or dare, not spin the bottle." Bryce laughed, then said, "I don't know about that, anything can happen in truth or dare." The game had officially started, and there was no going back.

       Bryce screamed, "I'll start! Griffin, Truth or Dare?" Griffin choose dare. Bryce chuckled and said, "I was hoping you would say that. I dare you to drink two entire bottles of beer in under 60 seconds." Griffin quickly rushed to the kitchen and grabbed two cold beers from the fridge. He came to the living room, and started to chug them. Everyone was cheering him on, and Bryce was timing him.  Bryce knew that making someone drunk would make the game more interesting.

     Griffin finally finished the bottles of beer. Bryce looked at the timer and looked disappointed. He said, "63 seconds..." All the sway boys knew what could happen when someone fails at doing a dare correctly. Bryce targets them non-stop for the rest of the game. Griffin knew the only way to escape that fate was to make an even bigger truth or dare.

    Griffin asked his girlfriend, "Dixie, Truth or Dare." Dixie choose dare. Then Griffin said, "I dare you to take off your shirt." Dixie gave him a disgusted look and screamed "What the hell Griffin?!" Griffin replied "what? You could still have your bra on, what's the problem?" Dixie shrugged and rolled her eyes, but she did the dare. Bryce gave Griffin a high five and said, "Now that's what I'm talking about!"

     Now it was Dixie's turn to ask someone. She knew exactly who she was going to pick. She looked directly at Chase, and said, "Chase, truth or dare?" Chase could tell the dares weren't going to get any easier, so he choose truth. Dixie smiled mischievously, and said "What is the gift you're going to give to charli?" Chase didn't know what to answer. How could he answer the truth if her question was based on a lie he made? He would have to tell the real truth, but he wasn't willing to do that. "I'll just do a dare," he said nervously.  Noah could tell something was wrong with him, and wondered if it had something to do with their secret.

   Dixie seemed very angry at chase for not answering her simple question. She wanted to come up with the craziest dare. One that even Bryce would think is too far. So, that way, Chase would HAVE to tell her what his gift was. She said, "I dare you to... jump from the highest balcony down to the outdoor pool." Everyone was shocked. It usually doesn't get this extreme, at least not this early on in the game. Even Bryce was shocked. Then, dixie said, "Your choice, chase. Truth or dare?"

      All eyes were on chase. He didn't know what to do. "Let me check the balcony," he said nervously as he ran upstairs to the highest balcony. Everyone else quickly followed. Chase looked over the edge, and saw how far up the balcony was from sway's outdoor pool. He would have to jump with all his force to make it. Josh whispered to him, "You don't have to do it dude, just tell the truth." Chase was struck with extreme fear. His palms were sweating, and his heart was beating fast. he didn't want to take such a big risk. But he couldn't tell the truth either. If he wanted to get out of this, he would have to use the illegal unspoken third option of truth or dare. He would have to lie. "Okay fine, I'll tell the truth. The gift I'm planning to give to charli are some concert tickets of her favorite artist," he said in a convincing way.  Dixie was surprised, and said, "Oh wow, that's a pretty big deal. I guess that's why you wanted to keep it a surprise. I'm sorry for taking the dare too far." Chase forgave her. He knew it wasn't wise to hold a grudge against his girlfriend's sister.

    At that point, no one wanted to continue the game, and it was getting extremely late. Bryce invited the guests to stay the night. All chase wanted to do was go back to the hype house, but Dixie insisted on staying. Chase couldn't just leave without her, that would be too suspicious. So they decided to stay. Nessa decided to stay as well. Dixie slept in Griffin's room, and Nessa slept in Josh's room. Chase insisted that he was fine with sleeping on the couch. Everyone started saying goodnight to eachother. Chase and Noah accidentally bumped into eachother, so they said goodnight to eachother as well.

      All the lights went out, and Chase laid down on the couch as he let a sigh of relief. He was able to keep the secret for yet another day. But, once again, he made another lie to keep it. Now he learned that lies can be dangerous, if they're not used with caution. A simple lie about giving a gift almost lead him to jump off a balcony. Regardless, he knew he would have to keep the lies going in order to keep his little secret. But how much farther was he willing to go?
