Chapter 17 – Sunshine, movies, garages, and pizza
I woke the next morning because something or rather someone was crushing me. I let out a groan trying to turn myself around, Ashton didn’t budge and continued laying there sleeping peacefully. I checked the clock, it was just after nine in the morning; my family wasn’t up yet which was a good sign, usually Luke was up chatting with my dad while they made breakfast.
I tried to push Ashton off me but it was no use, I would probably be stuck underneath him for the rest of my life or until he woke up anyway. All my pushing made him stretch his legs out and run his feet across my legs (thank god I had shaved yesterday morning). His arms unraveled from me a little bit and he opened his eyes and yawned. I froze, was he going to freak out? Does he even remember forcing me into his bed last night? Shit. Shit. Shit.
I lay there completely still until his eyes met mine. “Good morning, Sunshine,” he said in his sexy morning voice.
Oh my god, what?? Butterflies raced through my stomach and I could feel my face heat up so I looked away hoping he wouldn’t notice. Ashton checked the clock, “It’s only quarter after nine and I already made you blush. I’m on a roll!” Ashton looked very proud of himself and I wanted to die of embarrassment.
“I need to go back to my room,” I said awkwardly.
“Oh yes,” he agreed. “Don’t want anyone catching us, do we?” He said that as if he wanted to get caught but I knew he was probably just kidding around.
“No we certainly don’t,” I said unsure of what to say next. He was still kind of wrapped around me so I couldn’t move, our faces so close to one another. Oh god he could probably smell my morning breath, that’s embarrassing. I tried not to breath on him and he gave me a weird look. “Ashton, you gonna let go of me?” I asked.
“Oh shit, right,” he said jumping away from me as if I had the plague or something. I crawled out of his bed hiding behind the far side so I could put my jeans back on again.
“Ashton!” Luke screamed, Ashton cringed, and the door flew open. I dropped down to my stomach as soon as I heard Luke scream Ashton’s name. I lay on the floor completely silent and Ashton lifted his knees up so the blanket was covering the side of the bed. I felt as if I were ready to go into battle or something.
“Dad wants to know if you like strawberries and whipped cream on your waffles,” Luke asked.
“I’m allergic to strawberries,” Ashton told him.
“Really?” I could hear his footsteps walking towards the bed and I began to panic.
“Yes, just last year that happened,” Ashton explained casually.
“I didn’t know you could be allergic to strawberries,” Luke sounded so confused.
“Yeah, let me get dressed and I’ll be out in a minute,” Ashton said shooing my brother out the door.
“Okay hurry up, the girls and Colin are already up,” Luke said. “They said that Alex is still sleeping so I have to wake her up too.”
My friends covered for me praise the lord.
Wait. Luke can’t wake me up cause I’m not even in the room.
“Luke!” Ashton yelled before he made it out the door.
He stopped and turned around. “What?”
“You go have breakfast and I’ll wake her up,” Ashton said.
“Oh, good. I was getting hungry anyway,” Luke said happily. He raced downstairs screaming, “Ashton’s allergic to strawberries!”
I poked my head over the side of the bed. Ashton looked at me. “I thought we were screwed for a second there,” Ashton said.
