Chapter 3- He just moved in and I already want to claw my eyes out
“Why are you wrapped in a doormat?” Ashton asked. He held two suitcases in his hands and I could see the rest of his luggage by his crappy white two door pickup truck which knowing him he probably fixed up himself.
“Err…” I mumbled. I didn’t really know what to say to that so I told him the truth. “My brothers locked me outside… uh naked.”
I could see him fighting back a laugh. He dropped his suitcases by the door and unzipped his sweater before handing it to me. “You need it more than I do,” he grinned winking and I felt myself blush like an idiot.
He knocked on the door and Colin opened it smiling between us both. “Oh Alex, what are you doing outside naked? Are you trying to perform a strip tease for Ashton?”
I punched him in the gut before heading inside. I could hear my parents pull up to the house as I ran for the stairs. Colin had his arms wrapped around his stomach and I could hear Ashton laughing at him.
I slammed my door shut. Colin is such an asshole! Why does he always feel the need to embarrass me? I was going to get him back for doing this to me, that’s for sure!
I searched through my clothes settling on a pair of jeans and a hoodie since I didn’t really see the point in dressing nicely since our first meeting was me in a doormat! It was a good hour before I appeared downstairs again; I ended up just sitting on my bed staring at the roof for forty-five minutes because I didn’t want to face my family and Ashton yet.
They were all sat at the table when I got downstairs; Mom was putting our supper on the table and Luke was chatting away to Ashton. Colin smirked when I sat down across from him and I glared at him. Mom and Dad sat at the heads of the table, Ashton sat next to Colin and Luke next to me.
We ate in silence for a while. “Alex, why were you outside naked?” Dad finally asked.
I frowned pretending I didn’t hear him. “Alex?” Dad questioned.
“I… um…” I began looking between them all.
“She was putting on a strip show for Ashton,” Colin blurted out.
Dad spit his milk out of his mouth, Mom and Ashton both stopped what they were doing, my mouth dropped open and Luke asked, “What’s that?”
“Colin!” I screamed. “I was not!”
“Yeah, you were!” Colin said grinning wickedly at me.
“These two idiots locked me outside, Dad!” I exclaimed. When he didn’t answer I looked over to my mom. “Mom?”
She didn’t answer just put her fork down on her plate before sighing. “I swear Mom, I’m telling the truth,” I told her.
“No she isn’t,” Colin said, “Right, Luke?”
“Right,” Luke said with a nod even though he had no idea what he was agreeing too.
I kicked my foot forward trying to kick Colin in the leg but instead of him yelling out my dad was the one who screamed, “What the hell, Alexis?”
I opened my mouth to reply but my dad cut me off. “Did you just kick me?”
“I… uh… I didn’t mean to… my, err… foot cramped up and I… um… had to fix it?” I explained hoping he believed me and my terrible lie.
I’m probably the worst liar possible so when my dad gave me a look that asked are-you-crazy I knew he didn’t believe me. “I’m going upstairs!” I explained standing up from my seat. I grabbed my supper and headed for the stairs (at least instead of staring at the roof I could eat my supper).
