Chapter 7

Byul stood up with Mr. Park following behind her. They weren't able to talk. He tries his best to gather himself but inside, he is fuming. He lost his chance to ask Byul all the questions he had. 

Everyone is quiet. He looks at the troublemakers around the table with contempt as he speaks.

"You may enjoy the rest of the night but I'll make sure you'll pay for what you did."

He walks fast hoping that she hasn't left yet. He may see her soon but he won't waste this chance to get answers from her.

They are just outside the property waiting for the car. He calls her to stop her from leaving.

"Mr. Kim, I won't allow-"

He switches his gaze to him sharply. He doesn't care about being cool anymore.

"Mr. Park, with all due respect, can you please stay out of this? You kept your mouth shut while they were slandering your  'client'."

The older man has clearly no intention of backing down by the way he is staring back at him. 

"I only take orders from Byulie. You don't trust her capabilities don't you? We have plans. I won't let her on her own seeing you'll bring discomfort to her."

He thinks that Seo-joon is threatened by his assertiveness. But he has to be a father now and he can't be forgiving to one's incompetence.

"You keep on interrupting us. Just leave us alone will you?"

Byul had enough. She's exasperated from the occurrences during the dinner and their constant clashing is adding to her frustration.

"You two. We're all grown ups and professional right? We are still in the vicinity. What do you think people will conclude when they see us like this? I don't like any drama."

She calms herself before speaking again.

"Oppa, just wait for me in the car. And you, Kim Seokjin. Calm down."

Mr. Park reluctantly leaves. Byul slowly faces him.

"You're still impatient Seok-jin."

She doesn't have the time to sugar coat her words for their much awaited 'reunion'.

"Byul I haven't seen you for two years. I cannot waste my time anymore."

He blatantly conveys the despair he had felt and has been feeling from not being able to do anything.

"And you think now is the right time? We're not even in the right place to avoid rumors. What made you think I'm having this talk with you?"

She doesn't want to snap at him but she has to take control of what happened and can possibly transpire in the coming days.

"Call me desperate Byul but I cannot tolerate what happened earlier. I haven't been around my son ever since he was conceived. I've lost so much time. I want to protect him too. I can't sit still knowing that we're in a dire situation."

She assures him as she regains her composure.

"He is doing great. Don't worry about him."

With yearning eyes, he pleads.

"I want to see him Byul. Please let me."
