CHAPTER 16

Love Me Harder on loop..

Chapter 16

The boys are having their own talk while the girls are doing the same. Woojin is having his afternoon nap in Jin's arms. Byul keeps on glancing at them occasionally checking if they are fine.

"How is he as a father?" 

Yongsun asks the question the other girls are also curious about.

"He's a hands on dad. He's always there for him though he is busy. He's gentler around him."

"Are you jealous of that unnie?" Hyejin kids.

"Of course not. When a baby is weaning, it's normal for a mom to be anxious and sad since the bond is deep and strong but my son needs his own time. He is slowly becoming less dependent on me which means I can now start working regularly in the company, but he grows too fast. He's already more than a year old. I have to cherish these moments though I need to find a balance between motherhood and career."

Her wisdom has really increased. Her friends can see how much she has grown from all the things she lived through.

"By the way, did Jin and Kook have a fight?"

It's now her turn to be curious about that incident.

"He had it bad. He went missing and he just invited us one day. He's lost and wrecked that time that Kook wanted to knock some sense into him by punching him. That's also the day he knew you left and he had the talk with his dad." 

Heeyeon, grimaces remembering that day. It was heartbreaking for all of them.

"Unnie's right. He was too guilty that time and he blamed himself. It was a good thing he took the initiative to seek for professional help. Personal issues, pressure and a broken heart really weighed him down." 

Wheein observes her reaction after telling Jin's struggles to her.

"We thought he'd gotten better but when he knew you were pregnant, he had a relapse. Kook has to live with him for two months in Boston to make sure that he'd be fine. And after that, he finally recovered. He said he just found it within him. Like how can he be good to you if he keeps on being hard on himself. Somehow he managed to find forgiveness in him."

Yongsun finishes the story. She's the one who had seen both of their suffering and she's the person whom Byulie relies on when it comes to matters of the heart. She has an idea of what her younger friend truly feels about Jin but she also knows her reservations with regards to having a relationship with him.

"And that's when I fully understood why he chose to let you go and why you chose to give him space."

She ponders over the information she just learnt before mumbling.

"I just hope that he has already freed himself from all of his demons."

They can't help but be positive on her leniency and subtle display of affection towards her old flame.

"If not?" - Heeyeon

She gazes at the direction where the said man and their child is.

"We still have a long way to go."

It's absolutely not a rejection and their hearts are delighted by her indirect confession.

"Do you still love him?" - Hyejin

She is hesitant to answer but manages to communicate her troubles.

"No one can say what'll happen tomorrow. Right now, he's a great father and we're at our best selves. Getting back together is not that easy, especially in our case."
