Alexandria Lennon
I was curious to know the nature of the brat so I thought of asking Joker.
I was already in front of the door when I started debating in my head if I should go visit Joker or not.
I was so mad at him yesterday and now I'm going to him to satisfy my curiosity.
'He'll definitely think I'm a shameless person who only cares about her own interest.'
I shut my eyes as I raised my hand to knock on the door.
I took a deep breath,
'Here goes nothing.'
*Knock, knock*
"Ow!"
I opened my eyes when I heard Joker's pained expression!
'F---! I knocked on his face!'
Dang! This would've been so satisfying in different circumstances BUT NOT RIGHT NOW!
I immediately bent down to check on him, "I'm so sorry! Are you ok?"
He stood up properly while chuckling.
"Yes, I'm fine." He reassured me. But I could clearly see the redness on his nose.
'I totally made him look like a clown!'
But he's already dressed like one anyways.
'Shut up, Alexandria! Where's your humanity?!'
I was so embarrassed to face him but he just smiled reassuringly and made way for me to come in.
I walked inside the living room hesitantly and took a sit.
"Are you really ok?" I asked him again.
He smiled and nodded and also sat down on the couch.
"About yesterday, I know I told you to keep a distance from the people you might meet around here. But on second thought, you are welcome to go and talk to the blue-haired boy. He should be harmless enough." He told me.
I was relieved that he opened the topic on his own. I nodded on what he said and asked, "Where does he come from?"
He looked at me curiously before answering, "I don't really know."
I just nodded at him but I had doubts.
He flashed his happy-go-lucky smile and added, "And I am glad I don't. To know where he hails from would be too much for the average mind to handle."
I could feel my brow frowning in confusion.
'What do you mean?'
So the brat isn't really from my reverie or the prince?
I wanted to confirm my confusion so I asked again in a not-so-obvious manner.
"So is he here to distract me also?"
He let out a boyishly handsome chuckle before answering, "To be honest, it's more like we are all here to distract him."
I just gave him a timid smile and decided to go.
"Are you getting used to this place yet?" He asked just before I got out.
His question sent a shiver through my body.
'That's the last thing I need to happen. Get used to this place.'
I turned my head and I saw his hopeful expression. I decided to lie, "It has become bearable."
'But was it really a lie?'
His face beamed to a bright and genuine smile.
"That's good to know! Trust me, reverie isn't such a bad place once you get used to its quirks and surprises. And if you really don't feel safe, you can always call upon me for help and I will gladly accompany you wherever you go!"
'I wanna go back. Can you accompany me to reality?'
His optimism annoyed me.
I tried to hold back as much as I can but the words just couldn't stay in my mouth, "You're right. Reverie isn't such a bad place... but if you see your prince please tell him that I would be more pleased to leave."
-
I left as soon as I said those words and made my way to the attic.
This guy was the least annoying person in this mansion and I'd rather spend the rest of my day with him.
When I got inside, I found him in his usual spot in front of the window. I walked towards him and took the space beside him.
He ignored me as usual.
I guess he finds the sky more engrossing than my presence. I can't blame him, though.
I wondered what I should ask him today.
I looked at the beautiful creature beside me. His ruby-like eyes and long white lashes. There's definitely nothing like it even if I went and search the whole world.
He's so fixated with the sky, I doubt he noticed my presence.
I wasn't sure if he would answer but I asked him anyway, "Why can't you tell me your name?"
It took a few seconds but he answered, "Because I don't have one."
We both got quiet for a long time. Well, at least I did. He was already quiet.
I stared out the window with him.
For some reason, I really enjoy his company and it feels natural to be around him like this.
I turned my head to look at him again.
"Do you want a name?" I asked him.
He didn't even glance at me when he answered, "I don't see the need for one. Nobody talks to me but you anyways."
"Since you don't have a name, can I just call you White?"
'What the hell? He definitely won't agree. I so suck at naming.'
"I..." There was a moment of pause. I quickly flash him an apologetic look.
"I'm sorry! I won't call you White if you don't like it!" / "I guess it would be convenient for you to know how to address me." We both spoke at the same time but I clearly heard what he said.
My face immediately lit up and I smiled like an idiot. "So I can call you White then?"
He nodded.
I was getting accustomed to how the time passed by here so I knew I had to go even without checking my pocket watch.
I stood up and prepared to leave.
I looked at White and waved goodbye, "See you tomorrow, White?"
He looked at my hand weirdly and innocently copied it. I chuckled at what he did.
I was smiling like an idiot as I went back to my room.
'I named him White.'
