"Good morning, motherfu- WHAT THE FUCK?!" You and Kyojuro were jolted awake by Tengen-sama's loud booming voice. Your eyes squinted under the sun's harsh light as Kyojuro groaned, slowly getting up. You glanced at Kyojuro, who had horrible bed hair on his head. You did think it looked adorable though, making your lips curve up into a small smile. Cute...
"Oh... Good morning, Tengen!" Kyojuro exclaimed at his white-haired friend, who still had a surprised expression on his face. Tengen-sama then turned to Kyojuro with a worried expression, making both you and Kyojuro confused, wondering just what was wrong with him.
"You did use protection, right, Kyo?" Tengen asked, making you mentally facepalm as Kyojuro became even more confused.
"W-what?"
"Oh god! Condoms, Kyo!" Uzui cried, "Do you have any idea how horrible pregnancy before marriage is?! Horrible, just horrible!" Uzui sighed dramatically, placing the back of his hand on his forehead. Kyojuro just blinked, still confused as you gave Tengen-sama a flat look. What a drama queen...
"What's with the racket, Tengen?" You heard another voice say as you, Kyojuro and Tengen-sama turned to the door to find Shinazugawa-San standing there with a grumpy look on his face. You really couldn't tell whether he has brushed his hair after waking up or not, given how messy it was all the time. Beside Shinazugawa-San was Tomioka-San, who gave everyone his usual emotionless look as he kneeled in the doorway, folding his arms.
"Well, Sanemi, Kyo here slept with Klutzy without any protection!" Tengen-sama looked at Kyojuro with pitiful eyes as if Kyojuro was some sick animal, "Oh, Kyo... you could've asked me if you needed some. I'm not your best bro for nothing!" You were done with Uzui's bullshit.
"Oi! We didn't do anything! Cut the crap!" You snapped tiredly, still pissed at the fact that you had to wake up to Uzui's voice out of everyone else. It's not that you hated him, he just knew how to ruin your day without even trying. You kept questioning yourself how he had three wives with a personality like his. Perhaps he was such a jerk just with you and no one else. Once again, you started rethinking your life decisions for ever agreeing on becoming his assistant.
"Ooh! Now I understand what Tengen meant!" Kyojuro exclaimed as if he had just solved a very hard math equation and was proud of it, before realizing everything as his face slowly flushed, "Wait what?!" You sighed, this time facepalming for real. So those idiots are the demon slayer corps' strongest fighters?
"Hold on a second." Shinazugawa-San said, "Aren't you all 'Oh! (Y/N) and I are the bestest friends!' all the time, Kyojuro? I never knew best friends shared a bed." Shinazugawa-San folded his arms, waiting for an explanation as you groaned, rolling your eyes.
"Oh, you wouldn't know, Shinazugawa-San. I doubt you ever had a friend given by the way you treat others." You said with fake sweetness, making Shinazugawa-San growl with anger.
"Oh, sweetheart, I've got more friends than I need, thank you very much." He smirked, "If anyone here doesn't have friends, it's Giyu over there." He pointed his thumb over at Tomioka-San, which snapped him out of a long gaze, giving Shinazugawa-San a confused glance. You glared at Shinazugawa-San. You didn't like him. Not at all. He was such a jerk.
"I'm Tomioka-san's friend." You said, placing a hand on your chest, making Tomioka-San look at you in awe, as if you were the first person to call themselves a friend, but the expression soon turned back to his usual emotionless one. "And don't call me sweetheart. It makes me sick." The white-haired man rolled his eyes as he pulled Tengen-sama, who was busy lecturing Kyojuro about the importance of condoms and how pregnancy before marriage can make life very hard, with him. Uzui's eyes widened as if remembering something.
"Oh, yeah! You guys get ready for school! We've got a long day as teachers," he then turned and looked at you in disgust, "And assistants as well." You tried stopping every nerve in your body from giving Tengen-sama the finger. Tomioka gave you one last look, and you could've sworn he was smiling, before leaving. You sighed, rubbing your forehead as Kyojuro chuckled nervously.
"I'm so sorry about them, (Y/N). They can be very embarrassing sometimes." Kyojuro said, rubbing the back of his head. You gave him a tired smile with a nod, letting him know it was alright. You both sat down next to each other, trying to process everything that has happened. Kyojuro's eyes then widened as he gasped when he looked at your kimono. "God, (Y/N)! Your kimono! Your chest is almost exposed!" Your eyes widened as you looked down. Kyojuro was right.
Your face turned into a bright shade of red as you tried to cover up, only you didn't know how. You've never put a kimono on by yourself. Your grandma was the one who always put it on for you whenever there was a festival back then when you were younger. After she passed away, you never even bothered going to the festivals, afraid of the pain you'd feel whenever you'd remember the times she'd walk next to you with a big smile on her face when she went to the festivals with you. Kyojuro noticed how you were struggling to fix your kimono. He turned to face you as he grabbed the two sides of your collar to fix it for you before freezing.
He stared at your eyes as you stared at his. Kyojuro gulped the lump in his throat as he knelt and planted a small kiss on your cheek, trailing down to your jawline then your neck. The kisses weren't wet but soft and gentle. Your face turned fifty shades darker than it already was as he continued planting small soft kisses around your neck, making you squeak softly. Kyojuro then pulled away as he finished off fixing your kimono with a soft smile. "There. You can go get ready now." He said gently as you nodded, avoiding his gaze as you got up, excusing yourself as you left Kyojuro's room, face still red. You grabbed the sides of your face as you felt how warm your face was. You shut your eyes tight as you took in everything that happened. No. There was no way he saw you as 'just a friend'. Not after this.
"(Y/N)!" You looked up to find Mitsuri and Shinobu running toward you with big smiles on their faces. Your shoulders fell. Oh god no... "We heard from the guys you and Kyo-San shared the same bed~" Mitsuri said in a singsong tone. You blinked as you quickly turned to the other side, trying to pretend you never saw them, but they caught up to you nonetheless. You turned to them with an angry pout on your face. Shinobu chuckled, wearing her usual close-eyed smile on her face.
"Ah, Mitsuri. I think we're making poor (Y/N) here feel sad." She said.
"You both suck..." you muttered bitterly as you folded your arms, making your way to your room to change back to your normal outfit. You expected to find them clean and neatly folded on your bed, waiting for you in your bedroom. Mitsuri gave you a worried glance as she hurried next to you, hugging you from the side.
"Hey, (Y/N). We didn't mean to tease or anything..." Mitsuri said, "It's just... I have this feeling that you and Kyo-San are just meant to be! They don't call me the love pillar for nothing." Mitsuri winked as you sighed, your lips couldn't help themselves but curve into a smile because of how adorable Mitsuri was.
"Mitsuri you can't just say that... we're just... friends." The last part hurt you. Why were you trying to convince yourself that this was all that you and Kyojuro were? Why can't you just go up to him and ask him what you both were? We're you possibly... scared? Scared that you might lose him just because of a stupid question? You shook your head. Why were you slowly falling even more in love with him as the days passed? You just hated it.
"I understand that you're feeling confused right now, (Y/N)..." Mitsuri started as she turned to you with a bright smile on her face, "But I'm sure love will find a way. I could feel it!" You smiled softly at your pink-haired friend. Maybe she was right. For once, you wanted to hope.
Hope that maybe, just maybe, you and Kyojuro would find a way.
